Hmm, only one of Dwight Howard or Jeremy Lin. Toughie. Here are some more "pick only one" poll suggestions:
Hakeem Olajuwon or Scott Brooks?
Tracy McGrady or Tyronn Lue?
Royce White or Betty White?
Kevin McHale or Kevin McHale?
For me, this is easy: Linsanity What I saw during Linsanity was easily the most awe-inspiring basketball since the days of MJ. Even if the Knicks never won another game in all the years of Lin's career, Lin's play alone was basketball worth watching. In my mind, Dwight "Superman" Howard is without a doubt the best center in the league. He instantly makes all teams a championship contender. The amazing thing is Howard still has plenty of upside, especially offensively. But Howard, to me, is not the same winner that I see in Lin. I believe that the intangibles Lin possesses is a once in a generation type of thing. We've already seen Howard as a centerpiece for a Magic team, and we've also already seen such a "ceiling" for an inside-out team built around him. I'd rather much rather go with the unknown sky-is-the-limit inspirational potential, rather than the tried-and-true. Of course, the true answer to this question is pick both, but in the absence of that, I'd pick Linsanity without even skipping a beat.
