Clearly Willard is not ready for Prime Time.

    UPDATE: 3:35 p.m.

-- Mitt Romney's disastrous British trip continued Thursday when, according to The Huffington Post UK, he "caused amusement" by saying he had spent a great day in the "backside" of Downing Street, rather than the back garden.

    And then there's this...

The Independent wondered whether Romney forgot Ed Miliband’s name during their meeting, writing that it followed his earlier “gaffe” of questioning the Olympic preparedness. Watch the video of Romney meeting “Mr. Leader”:

I definitely think Romney is "devoid of sincerity" but didn't also realize he was a complete buffoon! The main reason he got the nomination over the freak show field was to avoid implosions like this. If he's crashing and injuring himself riding a tricycle, can the guy ever be trusted to drive a car?

This is just the kind of stuff I would have expected of Sarah Palin. smh

The problem is that he's playing not to lose, hoping the economy is enough to sink Obama, and avoiding any hostile interviews or unfriendly audiences as much as he can.

He wasn't ablet ot do that in the UK and got off script, and since he's out of practice...boom.

Oh, dear, what an odd guy. A sophomore communications major would know not to insult the host country of the Olympics.

    LOL, great job Romney.

If only more Americans knew. This guy is unelectable, period.

    Absolute disaster

Can Romney interact with ANYONE without insulting them?

As noted earlier, Mitt Romney's trip to London has been a non-stop gaff-a-thon, including insulting his hosts by suggesting the city wouldn't be able to pull off its Olympics.

After some snarky retorts from Brits clearly bemused that a major American political party would nominate such a git, Romney was forced to do the most horrible thing Pres. Barack Obama has (supposedly) ever done: apologize. Oh well, yet another anti-Obama GOP talking point (like the TelePrompter nonsense) bites the dust.

But of course, this sort of thing is par for the course for Romney. Meeting with NASCAR fans at Daytona he decided to "interact" with them by insulting their ponchos. When some sweet ladies decided to lay out a spread of their fancy local bakery's wares, he insulted them by "joking" that they looked like they came from 7-11. When a classmate showed up with hair that wasn't the right height, he ... you get the picture.

It's pretty well established at this point that Mitt Romney is an *******. He cannot interact with anyone without being an utter dick. Remember, his own high school friends, which the Romney campaign itself suggested the press talk to, sold him out.

The only problem is that he's now bringing his horror roadshow to international locales. And while the Brits can laugh him off with a dismissive snort (those guys know how to do humor), let's brace ourselves for when he gets to Israel. Insults in that part of the world start wars.

It is like Romney is a real-life version of Melvin Udall!

This is turning out as bad for the republicans as '96 when they trotted Bob Dole out there.

    Holy Jebus,

What would have happened if Romney didn't have a special caucasian connection with the Brits?

I eagerly await the rest of Mitt's European vacation stops. What's next? A trip to Auschwitz during which he compares the ovens to the fancy La Cornue ranges his servants use in his Summer homes?

A poor sense of occasion maybe, but everything Romney said to NBC regarding Brits' preparedness and their enthusiasm for the Olympics is true. Obama's boycotting Beijing Olympic opening ceremony statement to Bush four years ago was much worse. Good thing Bush had learned to be a statesman by then.
