Rockets have to wait it out at least one more week.

Cleveland offer's value depends on their two young recent #4 picks: how much does Hennigan value them and which of them is Cleveland ready to offer up?

None of their future picks will be worth as much as the Toronto pick.

The timing of the news sounds like leverage play vs. Houston.

Stop falling for Hoopsworld, guys. How many times are they going to have to make up complete bull**** before you ignore them?

With Waiters and Zeller signed and Irving presumably unavailable, there's nothing comparable to Houston's picks/prospects to tempt Orlando. Thompson was considered an extreme reach (in a weak draft) at #4 a year ago and has done little to dispel that perception, shooting 43% as a rookie. And any Cleveland picks... if you give them Bynum and Irving in a weak East, that's hands down a playoff team and the picks are around 20 or later. Whoop-de-do.

Dwight Howard is one of the top five players in the NBA. He's not going to be dealt for Tristan Thompson, a couple of non-lottery picks and absorbing a couple contracts. Aside from the fact that it's Hoopsworld, think about that.

Agreed! Let someone else have Howard along with his bad back and bad attitude. Why do people want to bring this circus to our town. Not to mention that there are no guarantees he will ever be the same player after back surgery.

Time to go with our promising youth and cash in on the lottery picks next year.

Considering no credible news outlet has reported it, the timing of the "breaking" news sounds like Hoopsworld is desperate for some hits.

    But will he?

I mean again the Rockets are in really good position to rebuild their roster. With their cap space, and the Toronto lottery pick and our high-upside youth.

If Cleveland want's to overpay for guy they can lose in Bynum and facilitate a trade for LA to get Howard (with possibility of both teams losing each player in FA), then so be it..

It really depends. Whoever they took #4 has just as much value as anyone on our roster, they have a Kings pick that will be top 10 protected and they can offer their own first rounders while we can't. Not saying I believe the report, but they can put a good package together.

Their #4 pick, Waiters, is in the same boat D-Mo is in...can't be traded until Aug 6.

If this is a true report, it's an obvious smokescreen to get us to pony up. But right now there's no reason to sweat it since all they can offer is Thompson, a couple future firsts, and absorbing bad contracts.

how many bad contracts can the Cavs take back? It looks like they only have one expiring contract and a lot less capspace than us.

Getting questions about Cavs/Magic/Lakers 3way. Here's what I know: #Cavs never "backed out" of trade with Nets. Talks simply never advanced very far because Cavs didn't like what they were getting. All the reports were completely overblown & premature. To say the Cavs withdrew from those talks is inaccurate because their position never changed, so it makes sense if talks shifted to LA. But Lakers don't have many assets left. They used their draft picks to get Nash. Aside from Bynum, Lakers don't have much to offer. Cavs and Magic would both be looking for draft picks and Lakers just don't have any to spare.

Team that remains a best fit, for what Orlando wants, is Houston. They have the right collection of picks and young players & wouldn't need help from a 3rd team to get the deal done. Not sourced, this is strictly my opinion: Dwight Howard is either in Houston or Orlando at the start of the season.

Well, that was fun while it lasted. Rockets guy getting with NY GM Glen Grunwald to deliver the Lin offer sheet, start the three-day clock.

Looks like his source is bad.
