OKC is a jump shooting team....last night was one of those nights where their shots weren't going down.....and LA still could not beat them. Bring out the brooms.
Jump shooting team is not the appropriate word to call them. They have 3 stars that can do more than jump shooting. The rockets are a jumpshooting team. They still get their "no post game' bigs involve.

You nail it. All three stars can drive, dunk and pass. They are shooting lots because they can make the shots at most time, but if a jump is not falling in, then you can see lots of penetration from Harden and others.
I don't know why people call them a jump shooting team, all 3 of their stars can get to basket at-will and draw fouls. Houston is a better example of a heavy jump-shooting team. We have almost no players who can get to basket at will and command double teams.
The people whom you refer to are likely ones who are working in NBA on TNT. Besides Barkley, Miller also called OKC as a jump shooting team on the game time yesterday, and maybe some people just buy it.
From the way game 2 looked, I don't think there will be a blowout this game. Maybe the Lakers have finally figured something out.
When your best players are perimeter players and you have rim protectors... you become a jump shooting team instantly
on the one hand, okc gets a lot of free throws. on the other, it really does seem like when they start struggling on jumpers, they just take even more of them instead of driving. so then their losses tend to just feel like a flurry of long, contested jumpers and that's what we remember. i wonder if the numbers actually back any of that up but the "jump shooting" team label i think originates from that perception. also, did kobe really say he doesn't take charges to stay healthy? wouldn't that be the lead on sportscenter if lebron said that?
