He got the WIN ! 6 is a row....playing 43 minutes.... 27 points 11 assists.. all his team mates credit him for making them play better..and he closed the game.
8 turnovers which means he is averaging 6 a game as a starter which is awful. The kid was amazing in his first four starts but his last two have been so so performances. He finished strong in both of them but as a whole got outplayed by both Rubio and Calderon. People assuming he is better than Lowry are just ignoring how big a factor defense, rebounding and taking care of the ball is. Lowry is a much more complete player than Lin. Factor in that he is in a system that has historically inflated assist numbers and you can't even say that he is for sure a better passer than Lowry. Really the only thing he does better than Lowry so far is penetrate and how people can think that is enough to make him a better player is beyond me. Stop looking at the flashy stats and pay attention to the player's games as a whole.
CURRENTLY hes probably comparable to any superstar in the NBA. Dudes confidence is at an all time high and showing on the court. I'd agree with you over the long run Kyle Lowry would probably be the better player but RIGHT NOW hes playing like a superstar out there. Dude just won the Eastern conference player of the week for gods sake, and having a pretty mediocre/bad game then ends up with a game tying and-1 then hitting the game winning three. Talk about Clutch. Thats it right there. Lowry was sort of like this earlier in the season where he was dominating, but right now Lin is riding his confidence all the way.
Lin has this amazing ability to get pass his man drive to the basket draw the foul and get the basket. His now shooting outside 3's... along with his passing... Tripple threat...
Jeremy Lin Vs Magic Johnson Michael Jordan Larry Bird Tim Duncan Hakeem Olajuwon 1 on 5. Tough decision. But I think Jeremy Lin would hit a buzzer beater to win the game. Opinion?
This isn't even a discussion... Lin will fall back to earth! He is going to get smacked with reality in the NBA. Lowry is proven to be good. Lowry no doubt.
This Lin phenomenon is so completely strange. He's played a half-dozen good (but not great) games. And people are going completely insane. Lowry's hot start to this season was better than Lin's stats (less scoring, but high assists, high rebounds, good defense, and low turnovers); he got noticed, but no one lost their minds over it. Is it because Lin's Asian? Is it because it is New York? Both?
Wow! We seriously can not be having this discussion. Goes to show how much of band wagoners and people jumping ships there actually are of recent. Also, trying to compare him to Lowry is a joke, not to mention he is what? 6'3" and still can't play defense or rebound like Lowry does.
Man i hate that, stop F'in flopping and try to score the damn ball, and that goes for a couple guys on our team. Its embarrassing to say but i think we have to be one of the top flopping teams in the NBA.
http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/02/15/blogtable-linsanity/?ls=iref:nbahpt1 There you go, JV. Houston will always be one of the last franchises to get media attention. Everything about the city seems to be low key.
Agreed. Too many possessions are wasted with Lowry bulldozing into the lane and flopping with no intention of trying to score. Then he looks surprised when there's no call. And how many times will K-Mart try to run the lane while taking that poorly aimed shot at the backboard. Again, no intention of trying to legitimately score, just flopping and looking for a call. Play the f'in game.
Here's some more fodder for this argument...if Stern hadn't blocked the Gasol trade (sending Dragic out of town), would we have kept Lin?
