Looks like he has us taking a WR (4th one off the board)

Is Randle one of the guys who carries a first round grade? Seems like most of the guys here were hot for Jeffery (South Carolina) or Sanu (Rutgers).

If the Bengals take Richardson they'll be following the Cowboys model with Aikman, Smith, Irvin... kind of.

He mentions we could take a TE in the first. I hope not. Can Casey not play TE or something? Vickers is fine at FB. Or pickup another FB -- worst case scenario.

I don't mind Konz (although I hate to mess with that position) if it means we somehow could resign Mario.

depending on his combine workout he could potentially be a late 1st round pick but he'd really have to impress.

Casey could play some backup TE in Dreessen's spot but Joel is a quality blocker. not sure if casey is as good.

This mock has Alshon Jeffery going as the 41st pick. Is his stock falling?

Cowboys were all high first round picks. Dalton and Richardson, not really.

(I don't care, just wanted an excuse to use that pic)

Decent pick Randle was highly recruited coming out of high school and in LSU was really under used and couldn't shine much given their terrible QB play. Still way early though LZ had the Texans taking Justin Houston around this time last year in his earlier mocks.

One thing I noticed when Kubiak was at Denver was how badly they kept messing up WRs in drafts. They wasted so many high picks on receivers and CBs over that span under Shannahan. And the Smith/Kubiak combo has not exactly done well either in the WR/CB drafting department in their years here. OTOH, they've drafted LBs and linemen well both at Denver and now at Houston. So there does seem to be a pattern.

If there's something about the Texans scheme that makes them hard to project college receivers, I prefer they just draft what they know and pay huge money to established receivers instead. I'd rather they drop Mario and draft a 3-4 linebacker to free up money for a top WR like Wayne.

i think people are getting nervous about his speed and separation ability. LZ said he heard rumors of his 40 being in the high 4.5s and flirting with 4.6

Texans will draft a Tight End.

Why? Not sure why. It's what they do

I'm not sure about # 10 but I wouldn't be surprised if a team reaches for him early

I don't know why but I have a gut feeling that Ryan Tannehill is going to be this years Andy Dalton.

Last year he had the Texans picking Justin Houston and JJ Watt going 14th.

Justin Houston went in the 3rd round.

To be fair that was only his 2nd mock in early March. His final mock before the draft he had us taking JJ Watt

That's funny, because I have a gut feeling that he's going to be a bust. I hope I'm wrong though.

I've seen Michael Floyd going to us in a couple of mocks. Not sure if he'll still be there, but imagining him lining up opposite Andre puts a smile on my face. In fact, Floyd's such a talent/playmaker (size with the ability to pick it) at a position of need that I'd move up if need be. He'll not only have a seamless transition into the NFL, but should put up big numbers out of the gate. This should be our target.

If Floyd falls then he may be hard to pass up

A TE will be taken,IMO. With Daniels health and Dreessen being a FA there is a need for another one.

Depending on what happens with Mario, late first round would be a good place to add so e OLB depth.
