There's a difference between the Bible/Jesus' teachings and many of the beliefs and teachings of different Christian denominations. Just my thoughts.

The point is that Jesus broke from religion and the temple in his day. He was persecuted for it. Jesus != Religion
I think the guy just has his words mixed up. He's not oppose to religion at all, just the self-intrest exploitation of "organized" interpetation of the bible. Sounds like he would rather approach religion in a more personal sense... no church, priest, or another man's view of what the bible says.
Fixed. The concept of Jesus (as divine, prophetic, etc.) is religion. There is no way around that. Trading one religion for another.

You're playing with semantics here or being intentionally obtuse. The author in the video has a context.
That sounded like the guy was trying harder to make sure his passages rhymed than he was trying to actually make sense.
You are correct sir! Jesus was a rebel, he challenged conformity and wanted people to think about the establishment and why the world is ruled the way it is. I like how many supposed Christians entirely overlook the entire poverty versus greed element of Jesus' teaching..... guess it does not mesh well with our world...
So I'm the one playing fast and loose with words here, while the poet dude isn't...? I'm using the actual meaning of these words. Am I not allowed to do that? What is this "context" you speak of? Is that just some excuse for him to be able to mean something that he isn't actually saying?
I would say that is a cop out that anyone can fall back on any virtually every situation where there is a disagreement.

My apologies, I assumed it was common knowledge that poetry often requires one to read past the literal text and "in between the lines" to decipher the author's intended 'deeper' purpose. (In this passage it wasn't too deep or difficult to decipher at all.) Though Christianity is obviously a religion, it is apparent what the authors purpose is here. It really is not my attention to get into a spat with you, and obviously we're all free to believe what we wish. Good luck to you on your journey.
The story of Jesus says he went against a lot of the sacred religious views of his time. The belief in the divinity of Jesus has led to a lot of other sacred religious views. If you believe in Jesus and believe that you need a relationship with him - which will impact the way you live - in order to enter heaven and be saved from hell... then you are religious. I love the video guy's passion and agree with most of the principles - but he forces the issue too far by inserting his own religious views. You can be good without god. You don't need "Jesus". Yes, Jesus has some great teachings. But a relationship with a character from a book? Leave it alone already... We don't have any more evidence for the divinity of Jesus than we do for the divinity of Sathya Sai Baba. It just isn't there...
