i can only see mcgrady playing for those teams next year. Not this year tho. And yea i am sure one more off season without any limitations will give mcgrady the chance to get his body to where he wants it and up too speed.

mcgrady has always said that even when he was with the rockets (i think) that he likes the pistons and would consider playing there.

now that he's playing there, i think he isnt really aching to leave. but if an offer from a contender or more money, i dont think it's wrong for him to consider those offers.

I dont think he would have stayed this healthy without Arnie Kander. He has played 55 straight gemes. Yes the same tmac who was falling apart in 09.Kander is amazing and thats why he'll stay in detroite

    True.

McGrady would be a perfect fit with the Bulls. He could start, play with his former coach in Thibbs, and his playmaking with Boozer finishing around the rim would be special for the Bulls. Plus, although he has played some decent defense this year, he would go on a defensive team where they can mask his defense.

This next off-season is crucial for him as he can improve his knee even more and actually work on his game fully.

His play making ability wouldn't be needed if he was starting. They have the best point guard this season playing there. Now if rose was sitting and boozed was in with mcgrady yeah but with rose in with mcgrady and boozed than mcgrady needs to be a scorer.

Dude plays half azzed defense on a team thats not trying to win.

Unlike the situation when he was here in Houston, its easy to loaf and take nights off when your team is tanking

If he had to go somewhere that was actually trying to get to the playoffs -- no doubt the guy would be in street clothes sometime during the season due to "injury"

All you do is bash, at least acknowledge that Mcgrady is playing okay and is having a relatively healthy season

why the exaggerant laugh? you don't think it is plausible mcgrady goes to a contender next year? what are championship teams always doing? adding veteran leadership, you don't see many championship teams going and signing young up and coming players to their rosters, they're trying to win now, so they go for the older talent that can add any layer of depth to their team, in mcgrady's case it brings a team a playmaker who can put up points if needed.

you don't think the lakers would want that? as kobe enters his 14th season and they go for a potential 4 peat? i dont think he'd want to go to the heat since they have 2 guys who need the ball in their hands to make things happen, but i certainly could see him with maybe the magic, bulls, ny?, any number of teams trying to get over the hump.

to not recognize such is just ignorant

nba execs dont care about the little kid who is mad his superstar faded away, they want players who can add something to their team and preferably at a cheap cost, mcgrady can bring both of those.

If what you say applies to McGrady, he will be gone from the Pistons this coming week. He's certainly cheap right now.

Few people are "ignorant" (as you say) and refuse to recognize McGrady's talent, but excuse those of us who laugh at the idea him bringing "veteran leadership" to a championship contender. Leadership (at least the good kind) hasn't been something McGrady has displayed in his career. Maybe that's your "ignorance" coming through. McGrady has the same inflated opinion of himself as you do, which is why the Bulls shut the door on him at the last minute.

Cheap role player that can still put up decent numbers. I don't know why you are laughing. It makes sense from a basketball perspective and from an owner's perspective. "Hey, instead of shelling out for a great free agent, we can sign Tracy for cheap!"

The dysfunctional wasteland known as the Detroit Pistons is exactly the type of situation where McGrady can provide his brand of leadership. He can turn a 25-win team into a 30-game winner. Yippee!

he also led the rockets to 3 50+ win season and a 22-game win streak. do you remember those or were you not a rockets fan during those years?

Yao + Tmac + teammates + coaches led the Rockets to those seasons

22 game win streak was a TEAM EFFORT and was the showcase of our other talents like Landry and Scola and even Rafer, plus Rick Adelman's coaching

... but you can view it anyway you want, that's just what I remembered it as

he definitely was not LeBron James in Cleveland.

It's good to see T-Mac doing well...I'm just going to throw this out there, T-Mac and Prince, for Brooks, Bud and Hill...we could really use T-Mac's ability to create, and a serviceable back up for Shane, or Shane could be Prince's back up.

The Rockets are rebuilding. Usually don't bash peoples comments but it's a stupid thought bud. No reason to explain. The Rockets have moved on, so should the fans.
