    M. Gasol DNP - Coach's Decision

Other than that, he seems to have shown some promise in this game.

He's never going to play up to the potential of a no. 2 pick, imho. Maybe a decent 15/10 guy but not an all-star.

While I'm not saying it's impossible for someone like Thabeet to accomplish such a feat, I think he'll have numbers similar to those of Dalembert in the near future.

It seems the grizzles don't need him. Maybe we can trade Battier for him.

Once they stop treating the d-league like a disgrace and more like a developmental league, the better. If a guy is coming to a team with stacked players at his position, i don't see the problem with getting the guy real game time basketball. I saw earlier this week earl clarke was sent down and thats a good thing if there aren't consistent minutes for him. They do it in baseball all the time.

A gigantic shot blocking center who puts up 15/10 is an all-star. You're describing Dikembe Mutumbo.

Now knee-jerk threads for other teams, too?

It's one game. It's one game.

Any time you are tempted to start a post stating anything about a player (whether he's on the Rockets or not) based on one game, please smack yourself a few times, select all the text in your post, and press delete.

Deke averaged 11/12/3.5 blks in his prime years and won DPOTY multiple times. He was basically a rich man's Camby. I'm saying Thabeet will become a 15/10 guy who is average defensively.. which is still pretty good, just not no. 2 pick material.

Not in a draft with Stephen Curry, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, Darren Collison, Ricky Rubio when your starting PG is Mike Conley and starting C is Marc Gasol.

    FAIL.

Thabeet is a good player but he will never be a great player. For a guy that got drafted that high, he should be able to bring more. I think if any teams that going to draft that high should draft a great offensive player other than a great defensive player. It makes more sense because its usually great offensive players that carries their team, not great defensive players.

I mean would you rather use your high pick for a good offensive player other than a good defensive player? Look at the Blazers and Sonics. The Blazers went out and drafted a great defensive player in Oden other than picking a gifted scoring machine in Durant. And we all know how that turned out.

Just think of the players Memphis could have gotten if they didn't go for Thabeet. Curry, Evans, Harden, Jennings etc. They passed up on Evans and Curry, both have the potential to be superstars one day for a tall C who is a good shot blocker.

I like how he has one 10/9/2 game and all of a sudden he is a good player.

I'm telling yall, Darko II in the making.
