    what a game
    Artest made 2 huge plays:
    1) by makin a tough lay up
    2) by forcing a charge against Pierce
then u know ...Kobe in the Clutch

Sure Pierce pushed off, but did Ron really have to flop like that?...lol

Actually yes, in that stage of the game... the refs weren't going to see a little tap back from Pierce (as strong as Pierce is Ron wouldn't get pushed unless he wanted to) so he had to flop back in order to make it obvious.

Doesn't matter... It was clearly an offensive foul on Pierce.

That should not have been an offensive foul on Pierce. Obvious flop. Should have been a no-call.

Well Lebron is replying as he already has 20 points in the first quarter.

The fact that he pushed off with his arm... we all saw it... it doesn't matter if Artest moves or not... Artest chose to flop back to make it more obvious.... that doesn't mean it wasn't an offensive foul... if you think of it like that, you're punishing a guy for being strong.

And It was an obvious push off. You must really like LeBron to discredit Kobe.

That was a very smart defensive reaction by Artest. It WAS definitely a foul (pushing off is a no-no in any league) but the refs might not have seen it if Artest didn't 'sell' it.

Huh? It sure was an obvious flop but that was an obvious offensive foul. You extend with your hands and arm and that's a foul. Pierce has been pushing off for awhile now cause he ain't fast enough break his man off.

It didn't look like a push off at all to me. There was marginal contact (which is a no-call, by the book), and Artest flopped backwards to make it look like it was more.

Pierce clearly motioned his arm towards Artest.

I guess I need to see the video again. At the time, it looked like a no-call.

why couldn't we just kept the discussion in the game thread. No new thread was necessary.

I've watched the video a few times. I thought it was marginal contact when I saw the replay on tv, but I suppose it could have been a push. Its hard to tell what kind of contact there is from the angle.

We do know that Pierce is a veteran who's been in that position a hundred times in his career. If it was a push, what was he thinking?

Rondo played great most of the game, dominating Fisher. Then crunch time comes and Rondo's primary offensive duty is to bring it up and throw it to Pierce to go one on one. The Celtics should let Rondo take over the whole game, especially when it's Rondo vs Fisher against Pierce vs. Artest.
