We need to do something after this slump, we need to tinker our lineup.

If we don't plan on bringing back TMac anytime soon, I would consider getting Iverson and start with.

    Lowry
    Tmac/Iverson
    Ariza
    Scola
    Hayes

Brooks has been stinkin it up lately and might help if we just let him come off the bench. Battier as well is looking really bad out there.

I'd keep Landry on the bench to help out and be the main guy coming off the bench.

This starting lineup would be really agressive from the start to help sustain our team's energy throughout the game.

iverson is too small to play adelman's offense. with tracy, he can play high/low post, or curl around screens, or play the pick and roll.

tracy will be back very soon so this is moot.

Mother of all kneejerk threads. I would rather watch the Rocket go 15-67 and get a lottery pick than pick up Iverson.

Seriously, forget Iverson for this team. Let him go to a contender and learn to come off the bench.

But for the Rockets, RA needs to stop thinking about having the strongest bench and start our best players. To me that would be:

    AB
    Tmac
    Ariza
    Landry
    Scola

All these players will need to play BIG minutes this season. Scola and Landry need to learn to play their best defense while staying out of foul trouble because we will give up points in the paint no matter what.

Hayes should go back to being a defensive specialist for limited minutes and on special occasions when a big stop is needed only.

Anderson should get the bulk of the backup minutes at the 4/5 to learn the NBA game quicker to possibly be a better backup for Yao next season.

We should look at trading Battier if we can get something decent back. It's just time. He won't be the piece we need next year when Yao comes back, he will only lose another step.

Lowry and Budinger should both get 25 minutes plus a game to continue their growth.

Personally I would like to see Adelman eventually start:
    Brooks
    Ariza
    Battier
    Scola
    Anderson
then when and if Tracy comes back, you start Tracy and move Battier to the bench where he comes in the game with Lowry, Landry and Hayes.

Unbelivable so many stupid fans still have faith on TMac. He is over as a Rockets. If he gets some minutes, he will play for himself for the next contract, not for the team. His only value is his huge expiring contract.

I've been up for getting Iverson all year. Sure, it might not work out, but it seems like the risk would be much lower than the possible reward.

Since TMac is not coming back soon enough. My starters Andersen, Scola, Ariza, Lowery, and either Landry or Budinger.

Yea because iverson would totally just love to come off the bench for the rockets.

This will solve 2 of Iverson's problems:

    1. Not wanting to come off the bench.
    2. Getting an NBA championship ring.

Why wouldn't he do this!!! Epic idea.

    Lowry
    Brooks
    Ariza
    Scola
    Hayes

Lowry is gonna have to check the bigger guard, but I think he can handle that, and in some cases Ariza/Battier will be assigned to that person.

Bring Battier in early for one of the guards and then bring him back in when you sub out whoever is left. Or even run Budinger a little at bringing the ball up. Brooks will be effective when he gets a teammate in the backcourt that is better offensively than him.

I pretty much agree with that and think that you made a good suggestion. My lineup with Tracy would be:
    Brooks
    Mac
    Ariza
    Scola
    Andersen

I like what Andersen brings on the offensive end and I think that he would give the first unit a nice high-post option, and perhaps a player that Tracy and Brooks could run the pick and roll with. Who knows, maybe even with Ariza. In other words, I simply think that he would add flexibility and a bit of offensive punch which the starting lineup was sorely lacking tonight. I know that the problem isn't scoring as a whole, but as other posters pointed out, it is a problem against some of the better defensive teams.

Without Tracy I think that I would only sub Anderson for Hayes. Not that I think Hayes is bad, mind you, but I just think that starting would be really good for Andersen's confidence whereas Chuck is an all out selfless team guy.

    Lowry
    Bud
    Battier
    Scola
    Landry

    2nd Unit

    Brooks
Committee (Could be any one of the starters)
    Ariza
    Hayes
    Andersen

Obviously when Tracy gets back the line up will change slightly.

Anderson looks like a sweet fit with Tracy in that he's a 7'0 footer that can drag another teams big out to the 3pt area and open up the middle for Tracy to postup.
