Good luck everyone! I was there for Hurricane Alicia but this sounds worse. God (or whomever you believe) be with you.
Pearland 77584 here, near 288 & Shadow Creek Parkway...going to ride it out as best we can. We've got lots of water & non-perishable food and are going to tough it out in the master bathroom. There's a window there but it's the thick privacy block glass cubes, so it ought to hold ok.
77384, Woodlands area. I am just wondering what a 50-60 miles/hour wind will do to a house, trees or windows...
I just returned from boarding up our windows at our business in the 77008 area. We are staying put in the 7 7 06 fo.
I just left the Kemah area. I was standing next to the channel 11 guy off the boardwalk. Landry's already has water at the door on the corner of the boardwalk. Water is crazy high already. I got some pretty cool pic and videos. We parked on top of the Kemah bridge and took pics and video's. Todville area is already under water
Ok, now that I have looked it over, here's my info 77521 North Baytown(just south of I10) Boarded up, got over 70 gallons of water, lots of candles, flashlights and generator. and a half bottle of Jose, a full bottle of Petron and a half gallon of Crown. Any clutchfans want to come by...feel free. Behad, I though they showed that your employer was shutting down the plant, you part of the skeleton crew? WE had to totally clear out our lab shack across the channel at HFOT (Jacintoport)....I dont honestly expect those two shacks to still be there after this is over.
I live in 77057 but am riding out the Hurricane at my parents house off of Dairy Ashford and Memorial in 77079, where I grew up and went through Hurricane Alicia when I was a kid. I don't think this storm will be much worse than that one for West Houston, but I am worried about how the storm surge will affect areas like Surfside, Galveston, Kemah, etc. I'm surprised that the waters have gotten so high already, which does not seem like a good sign at all.
