How much money do you think Artest is looking for next year? I want to resign him... TMac gotta take a paycut.

1st. It all depends on how Artest plays, and if he can stay out of trouble.

    2nd. Paycut? yeah.....

If he plays well, he'll want at least 12 mill a year. He's been underpaid his whole career and is looking for that one big contract.

hmm I am checking out on hoopshype our salary and for this season we are at $72 MM total, next year we are at $59MM. Are we technically over the cap right now? And does this mean we can afford to sign Artest next year considering we have around $13MM to play with?? I am curious if we can even afford him next year.

We hold his bird rights so we can go over the cap to sign him. Thing is, are the Rockets willing to pay 3 max players? Assuming Artest wants the max like he did earlier in the off season.

Even if we just go deep in the playoffs instead of a championship this year, I say we sign Artest at little lower than max, around $12-$13 MM a year, Yao and TMac will need to make sacrifices when their contract comes up for renewal, both at $15MM - $17MM or so. This arrangement should work out.

Next time you feel the urge to litter this forum with a response like that, don’t. Then maybe you can slow down the damage of adding on more hollow posts that’s earned you your extended rookie status.

Look, I've already reported you for making nonsensical, insulting posts that have nothing to do with a basketball discussion, but you're making yourself into more and more of a juvenile idiot every time you post something. If you don't have anything to say about the Artest signing and feel the need to post what you perceive are humorous posts, why not just do the right thing and shut your ignorant trap- actually, back away from the keyboard. I'm done responding to you, you infantile moron.

On a positive note, does anyone know when tickets go on sale or are they already on sale? Just curious. Thanks!!

Hey btw, to all of you who hate calling Ron Artest "Ron Ron", his real nickname is “Pakman”. Don't know the meaning and don't know if this has been mentioned before.

Here's an interview where he talks about his number 96. If you don't want to listen to the whole thing skip to the 13 minute mark.

If you can't listen to it...here's why he chose it.

    Reasons for choosing number 96:
    1. 96 wins can get you a championship.
    2. There was 96 buildings where he grew up.
    3. 9 = q, 6 = b (9 is lower case q and 6 is lower case b, qb stands for Queensbridge, where Artest grew up.
