Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston and Utah being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Utah had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Houston Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -15.1 ppg, -2.8 rpg, and -4.6 apg. why not add in more garbage for another shooter and 2nd round pick. we get to drop 3m in wages as well. Rox give up- John Lucas, Justin Reed, Bob Sura, Shane Battier, Rafer Alston Jazz give up- Morris Almond, Andrei Kirilenko and 2nd round pick. and we now got 15 players.
Placing Kirilenko's horrible albatross contract aside you could make an arguement that Battier would be a better fit as a Rocket than AK would be.
This one is sensible compared to most trade ideas people like to throw around. You'd be swapping Battier's outside shooting for Kirilenko's more athletic all-around defense. I'd do it
Go to the corner of the room and slap yourself until you bleed profusely. But yeah I'd be willing to give up Battier for AK. The guy can do everything. Adelman will find many ways to use him. I don't think its going to happen though as he wants to be the "man" from what I can tell and it's not going to happen here. but just imagine... PG Francis SG McGrady SF Kirilenko PF Scola C Yao I think I got a boner.
No to AK47. I would hate to see such a lovable guy like Shane go to the bad guys. I would hate to hate him.
If they trade AK my guess is the Jazz will come off a better team. I also think AK will benefit from a move. Sloan is a notorious yeller. Can be real demeaning. AK may flourish under a players coach.
Let's keep Battier! Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston and Utah being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Yes, because Sura is going to play much and Lucas won't be cut, right. They just lost their backup PG Fisher. Apart from that, it's an obvious pipedream anyway.
I figured it was. I was looking at it from the Rockets depth at the 1. We went from none to tons in the off-season. You would have us with Francis and Brooks! Now, I think Brooks is going to be a surprise, given some minutes, but depending on Francis? I'm glad we got him, seeing that it cost us nothing, but he's still a big question mark. NIKEstrad sliced and diced it from the Jazz side. Needless to say, putting aside his contract, I think AK47 would be terrific on the Rocks. We just won't end up with him. (I never thought we'd get Scola, either. shows what I know!) Major news for the Jazz, if this is on the level.
battier, alston, reed, novak, lucas, sura, draft rights to landry, and two future 1st round picks for ak47. jazz have room to keep battier, alston, reed/landry. they waive the rest. two starters for one and with more manageable contracts. rockets cut player numbers and dump salary but take on an albatross contract.
