Actually, he is more mobile than Yao.

So you think Marshall is going to give this team 25 minutes at the age of 34?

I would rather have these players than Marshall.

    PJ Brown
    Gooden
    Varajao
    Amir Johnson
    Webber

to name a few...but I would take Donyell as a stop gap if we had someone young and up and coming......

Well, I've always believed that LeBron, like Kobe Bryant, does not know how to use their teammates and allow them to reach their full potential on their team. As a result, I think Donyell is undervalued.

But having said that, there are better 4's on the market and Donyell should be a late option because he isn't a very traditional power forward, which I think better fits the team.

Oh yes... it's been extremely entertaining, I must say. :D

    To all the naysayers:

So who is it you propose to get instead? I think I made it clear in my first post that guys like Amir Johnson, Varejao, Gooden, etc. are all preferable, but if we CAN'T get those guys for whatever reason, would you really rather have Malik Allen, Alan Henderson, or PJ Brown?

If that's the case, well... I'm surprised. I especially love all the PJ Brown supporters. That guy could probably tell you what his favorite dinosaur is... to RIDE. Dude is ANCIENT. And then you turn around and call Marshall "too old?" I don't get it. All I'm saying is, Marshall ain't such a bad last resort if we can essentially get him for nothing. I'm surprised almost no one seems to agree with that just because he didn't look good in the playoffs.

Why stop there... how about Malick Badiane? :D

Seriously though... I have more faith in a guy like Marshall than some 2nd-rounder.

May I quote Whitney Houston when I say 'Hell to the no!'

We don't need another one-dimensional 3 pt shooter who chokes in the playoffs.

Donyell Marshall hit nine 3 pointers in a game during his contract year and rode that performance to get an MLE contract from the Cavs. He has been a bust since then. If you want to pay your 3rd string PF $6MM/yr, DM is the man! Remember the Cleveland crowd groaning when he touched the ball in the playoffs because they didn't want him to shoot.

I do not want either Marshall or Gooden. Marshall is 34, makes just under 6 Million and is not worth it.

To all the people who want Drew Gooden:
Get a Clue! Please watch some basketball and put away stats and fantasy points. Drew is a bum. He had to settle for a lower contract with the Cavs because other GM's didn't want to pay him 8+ Million. He is one of the softest starting pwer forwards in the league. The Cavs are his third team and won't be the last. He couldn't cover any of the Spurs in the Finals. He is not even one of the best power forwards in the east. We really need him on our team. Oh let's make a run at him because Bozehound, TD, KG, Matrix and Brand will put him on his a$$! Great pick guys!

That may be true but he is much better than any options the rocket have right now on their roster

Donyell Marshall is a broke ass Sam Perkins. Not worth wasting a dollar for his services.

Ouch. I don't know if you watched LBJ play much, but I'd say the exact opposite. Lebron has a reputation of being one of the better passers and team players in the league. There's a reason people say he should be compared more to Magic than MJ. If you saw the playoffs there was no doubt that the team in general let him down. He got the team plenty of open shots, Marshall and Gooden included, and they were missing left and right just like the Rockets supporting cast. In hindsight I think Marshall only made one shot worth noting and Gooden had one good game in the entire playoffs. I'd wager their fg% in the playoffs were probably below their regular season avg though.
