Well, Vspan had 0 assist and 2 turn overs, while lucas had 2 assists and only 1 TO. 2:1 A/T ratio is not bad. :p

so how did you measure his confidence?

billy has confidence, driving to the lane, losing the ball, putting up shots and hitting nothing but rim, so if you mean confidence by not being afraid, ok

    JL3 is deadly.

He almost killed our 40 pt lead with his stupid shots.

Our defense is "average" against good teams? Our defense has been way above average against good teams which is why we have beaten some of them short-handed.

I only saw bits and pieces of the game but the intensity on defense was great. Hopefully the rotation players can continue this and earn the rest during 4th quarters. The scrubs getting creamed 33-16 in the 4th quarter doesn't help though.

I hope more ppl can realize why JVG doesn't play too much bench.....

and I can't believe there were so many ppl on this board who wanted to start JLIII ahead of Alston.....

Very good win. The Rockets should continue to roll. The game I want the Rockets to win will be the one against the Minn. Pay back.

    We've got

    Mutombo
    Howard
    Hayes
    McGrady
    Battier
    Head
    Alston
    Wells

add Kirk and Ming to that rotation and we have 10. That'll be the rotation for playoff games. Novak is a good shooter but with Battier on our team, he'll not see time during big games.

Only bad part of our defense is the 3pt line. JVG always has no answer for a team with over 3 good 3pt shooters.
He believes to protect the pain more than any spot...

This same bench competed in games with Yao and McGrady out. The almost the same bench squad of Lucas, Head, Padgett and Novak almost came from 20 down against the Lakers on the road...Just makes it even more confusing on how to judge players in garbage time. There are some things that anyone with casual observation can take out of it though...

    - Lucas is THE DEFINITION of ballhog. Francis, Mobley, and Moochie would have loveed to average the length of time he pounds the ball on the floor.
    - Hayes makes hustle plays and sets picks.
    - Novak has shooting touch and a beautiful stroke
    - Same for Kyle Korver but we knew that.
    - Rodney Carney is some athlete. Runner and jumper supreme
    - Bonzi has skills but is out of shape.
    - And.. Spanoulis cannot shot worth a darn and...(tuh duh), TURNS THE BALL OVER! He also looked a bit timid early on but got his 'confidence' back with 30 seconds left... :D

And what does JVG focus on in his postgame conference? How bad the fourth quarter was when our scrubs were in.

Jeff's always such a ray of sunshine.

JVG has not given any chance to VSpan playing at the point. All the time he has played has been at the shooting guard position. Playing at that position, he will fail.

Cuz Spanoulis turns the ball over before he can get him a pass
And Lucas shoots the ball before it can get in Spanoulis's hands

I should try to go back and bump all the threads about how vital it was to resign Lucas and that we would be screwed if we didn't :p

Seriously, though...I think he just had a bad night. He should turn out to be a servicable backup (but nothing more)
