    No its not Pat Riley.

Texans Hire Riley as Strength Coach
    February 1, 2001

The Texans announced Thursday that Dan Riley has been named the club’s first strength and conditioning coach.

Riley spent the past 19 seasons in the same capacity with the Washington Redskins. Riley served as an integral part of three Super Bowl champions, four NFC champions and five NFC East champions during his tenure in Washington.

“Dan is unquestionably one of premier coaches in his field,” Texans Executive Vice President/General Manager Charley Casserly says. “We feel very fortunate to bring him on board.”

Riley has authored four books on weight training. In addition, he wrote a physical fitness column for the Washington Post. He also writes a monthly column called “Power Line” to Scholastic Coach.

Prior to his stint with the Redskins, Riley spent five years as the strength coach at Penn State. The Nittany Lions won their first national championship after his last season. Before arriving at Penn State, Riley served as the strength coach at Army from 1974-77.

Riley is a native of Manchester, N.H., and graduated from Keene State in Keene, N.H. He and his wife, Brenda, have two sons -- Marty, who works for Microsoft, and T, who was drafted in the 24th round of the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft by the Texas Rangers and will attend the University of Houston.

Again I might add, a nice move by the Texans.
