If only I lived in Houston still, or could at least take time away for a vacation down there.

Its definitely a cool offer, though. Thanks, Clutch.

Please use the BBS email form to submit a request to go -- don't post in this thread that you want to go, I am not organizing it based on that. I'm just taking the "Year of the Yao Movie" emails and putting them in to a folder, organizing it based on timestamp/contributing membership.

I apologize to any posters who want to go that aren't contributing members, but it looks like there is too much interest from the contributors, many of which have said they are willing to write a review.

I'm going to take the top 20 and have down 5 alternates in case Fine Lines allows 25. I will close this soon and send out an email, but it's not time to stop sending in requests if you still want to go.

    Thanks,
    Clutch

    zhao,

Why can't you? Are they not showing the movie in China? I would be surprised if they don't, since you would figure that this movie would be heavily advertized in China so they can make lots of money off it, I am sure there is VERY heavy interest in the documentary in your homeland.

Do you know when it will be out in China? I am sure you will get the chance to see it soon there.

When I get in today I'll see if I can pony some up, too. The movie is AWESOME BTW. It's like a trip down memory lane. Sir charles is hilarious, it makes you miss the dickens out of Steve and Cat...It's awesome and I didn't think it would be.

I'll post in a little while.

What do you think a regular NBA fan would think of it?

Rockets fans can be expected to like it.

the audience I attened it with was mostly non-nba fans. Therre are moments that are genuinely funny irrespective of sports. The movie should have been titled "Yao and Colin: Year One" there were so poignant moments that highlight the cultural differences that have nothing to do with basketball. The sight gags are great as well. Just seeing Yao doing every day things like sitting in a commercial airplane are stunning. Hearing Cat trying to talk Yao into eating soul food was great. Reading how Yao and Colin (talking mandarin) are trying to get Boki to eat snake was awesome. It's a good movie. I especially like a certain part ;)
