I'm a huge fan and happened upon the ones at Giacomo's. This has easily become my favorite Italian restaurant in Houston now that Patrenella's closed down. I go here at least once a month and their meatballs are always the standout. And, in my opinion, 90% of there menu is great. It is called "polpetti puccini" and the menu reads "11 slightly spicy fennel-seasoned meatballs of grass fed texas longhorn beef & pastured pork, fennel confit & tomato cream sauce." Any other recommendations? I've been wanting to try Brooklyn Meatballs in the tunnels but I'm never in DT for lunch.
Can't say anything about Houston meatballs (but I do know how to make 'em), but I'll tell you that if you're thinking that "Texas Longhorn beef" is ever a selling point, you're a sucker.
Lol. Just posted what they had on the menu. The fennel and creamy tomato sauce are what keep me going back.
So what you're saying is: you know the best saucy balls in town? The sauce is always the key, unless you totally neglect and dry out your balls.
