Really, the one thing they just couldn’t do was get swept by the A’s. Not when they are behind them in the standings in an already shortened season where every game is basically 2.7 games. That’s a BIG big sweep. This team has some ready built excuses with all of the injuries, but putting all that aside, the bottom line is that they absolutely must play better baseball or this season could get away from them in a hurry.
