Biden won’t even show up. He is gonna send Jonathan Swan to debate in his place.

This whole debate conversation is ridiculous.

In January, Trump was threatening to skip all debates because he said the commission on presidential debates was "unfair." At that time, the Trump campaign thought there was too much downside to debating.

Now that Trump is down in the polls, he's the one demanding debates and Biden is the one that has incentive to skip them.

Remember, the only people who ask for debates are the ones who are down in the polls. Notice the trend. Susan Collins, Joni Ernst, Cory Gardner, and Martha McSally are all begging for debates. Trump is joining them. It's always the losers that are asking for debates.

For the record, I think we should have debates but I think its important to be honest when bringing up debates. If you're winning, you don't have an incentive to debate. If you're losing and your campaign is struggling, you want debates.

I agree with you, to a degree. It's why I keep telling the sane people who support Joe Biden, never assume.

Meanwhile, you have to live with being a trump supporter.
Brother, I would not want to be you and needing to explain that in, say, ten years. Ouch. Someday, a light bulb will go off in your head. A "What did I do?" moment. Remember I said that when it happens.

I don't care one way or the other. Trump doesn't know what he's talking about and will make up stuff, lie and his followers will start spreading the falsehoods.

Biden will be eager to show he's no wimp, will make a gaff or two which will be spread by wildfire by Trump fans who will say that Biden is now senile.

Biden will make some good points, show that he has way more grasp of the issues and policy than Trump. But all of that will be overshadowed by the other crap which will be played over and over on cable news and turned into off-base memes.

Trump has already walked back his willingness to debate, yet the narrative is already out there that it is Biden that doesn't want to debate. Biden has agreed to 3 debates and hasn't walked it back. So it is a loss no matter what.

This topic was being discussed at a neighbors' as I was visiting. His family was on the back porch chatting as I was cutting through to get us a couple of drinks. I made a commit that I thought there was already a couple of debates agreed to by both and they laughed, asking, where I get my news from...I just shrugged lol and went back to visit with my friend.

It's really crazy how the narrative changes perception more than actual facts.

Is this article a joke? That is the dumbest argument for holding a debate I've ever heard. Essentially: "Yeah, it's stupid nonsense, but that's what it has been for a while and it gets ratings, so let's just keep doing it!"

Again. Biden has already agreed to three debates and Trump is the one to actually walk back his agreement to the debates.

It is a universal truth in politics, one that has existed since debates were able to be broadcast to a wide audience, is that a candidate who asks for or even demands more debates than have been scheduled does so because that candidate knows he is losing.

It's baffling to me that Trump supporters think that Biden's acuity is a winning issue for them and the stable genius.
