Westbrook is what he is. It was then and it is now. I don't think he will change. He is capable of scoring 30+ points any night. He is also capable of losing a game single-handedly by playing hero ball.

We'll just have to take the good and the bad together. What I worry most is the threat of losing his hops and speed soon. Once that happens, his impact will fall off the cliff. And with his contract, he will be a dead weight dragging the team down.

We traded Clint and told Russ to play inside, and now apparently he thinks he's supposed to shoot the same free-throw percentage Clint did.

I would trade him this offseason to a team like the knicks. Get back some young players like Kevin Knox, frank ntilikina and Mitchell Robinson

He should definitely eliminate the one-legged turnaround bank shot from his game.

Not losing his athleticism and killer mentality THIS season or even next season.

If anything he will become more efficient in a system that maximizes all he does best.

Clint improved his FT shooting every year in his first four seasons. So there is hope. :D

I like your optimism as always. But I'm a glass-half-empty kind of guy.

The system that maximizes what he does best is the system we have now, small ball (or donut ball if you will). What he does best is getting to the basket. But to do that at a high level requires elite athletic abilities. When he loses that, as it happens to every player in time (usually around the age of 32 or 33) what will he do best, and what system are we going to have to maximize it?

We will figure that out when we get there.

It could be 2 years, it could be 4 years.

Right now I'm more interested in what we do this season.

We still have ring to win!!! :D

He's shooting 77% from the line this season. That's not spectacular, but it's certainly not problematic. He had a bad game....it happens. On to the Lakers.

Can’t expect to win a close game when your starting PG goes 7-12 from the free throw line.

Actually, it kind of is though. He’s #4 amongst all PG’s in FT attempts and 12th overall in the entire league. He’s 28th worst amongst all starting PGs in the league (only Simmons and Fox are worse). Accounting for positions....he’s below the league average.

That's the kind of writing that won Kobe an Oscar.
