Clutchfans Game Thread: Rockets @ Blazers 8/4/2020

Hey, if you guys have fun with a team who always depends on luck and favorable calls in every game that ends up being close, have fun with that. I don't really need that.

 

Someone on Twitter just said the Rockets are "tired".

What? They haven't even gone anywhere.

 

I get why MDA wanted to get his big guns back in but I would have let the bench go for another minute or 2 (or until a 6-0 Portland run) before bringing Harden and Russ back. It's the age old argument but I'm a proponent of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" line of thought.

 

3 straight games against teams who are tough matchups for us. Two out of 3 isn't bad.

Clippers are 1-2 in the bubble.

Who? I’m very unemotional about James and the Rockets. He doesn’t play as well in crunch time. He just doesn’t.

 

Also, Ben McLemore is the worst defender on the team. I love his shooting, but he may not play in the playoffs.

 

MDa also took Jeff Green out when he was the only one hitting shots. Or did he foul out?

they can put the best player on the bench with 5 fouls tho. This is the 3rd straight game that’s happened, you don’t think the league is targeting him

 

russ jumper been ass since he touched down in orlando. i guess i'll try a turnaround mid range fadeaway like i'm kobe.

 

Rockets can't win each game with this way.

There is no answer whey they aggressively double team Harden. We are terrible at playing 4 vs 3.

Harden has to find ways to shoot more. As the deadliest scoring machine, he should have at least 20 shots attempt.

the rockets just didn't have it tonight offensively. only player that showed up was Green.

Harden always disappears at random moments. Russ is unpredictable, so you never know what version you're going to get. He's not an automatic mid-range shooter like CP. The team gets consistently outrebounded by like at least 20. Poor perimeter defense. Inconsistent bench. If you guys want to keep trumpeting this team for the Playoffs, go ahead. They're not doing much damage.

 

Need to be better making free throws. I'm not too upset with the loss. Portland is one of the 2019 WCF finalists afterall.

It sucks we lost, especially to Dame and CJ, the biggest b**** backcourt in the league, but there's a lot to like about the Houston Rockets right now.
