Clutchfans Game Thread: Rockets @ Blazers 8/4/2020

Dame is basically Russ' nemesis so I hope he won't be too wild.

This game is really kind of needed, there is a possibility that we fall in the 2-3 rangge WITH Denver and thus would theoretically meet them in the 2nd round instead of the Lakers or Clippers. Not that Denver is some team you can just disregard, I do think we beat them in a 7 game series and would rather play them than having to go through the star power of the Clippers-Lakers in back to back series.

 

The Clippers just dropped a game to Phoenix. If we win tonight we can get within two games of them. If we stay in front of the Mavericks we'd have the tie breaker over the Clippers by virtue of being a division winner. Tough road, but at least it's plausible to avoid both LA teams until the conference finals.

 

We faced Harden's nemesis and won out, we will do same vs. Russ nemesis.

Although Dame is much more skilled.

 

Tough game. Old rivalry. Blazers are DESPERATE so they will play like a mf.

Portland has embarrassed us this year. I would love to hand them a loss when they desperately need a win. This will be tough because the skill and quickness of the backcourt. We have a difficult time keeping them out of paint like most teams do with our backcourt.
