I love Russ having the ball and attacking the rim in the clutch. And can we please have some more Harden off screen 3s and less step backs?
But He's not talking about skills in general. Obviously Harden is more skilled. He's talking about initiating contact on drives. Like I said, the biggest difference is that Giannis' rim runs are faster which results in more dramatic collision. Harden's contacts are more subtle and deliberate. Every superstar does it. The rules favor the offensive player with the ball. If there is contact while defender is still moving, its a defensive foul.
doesn't matter. initiating contact isn't the same either. Like i said Giannis uses his strength to barrel through people. Players are literally bowling pins. Harden uses his basketball skills to get around and people are forced to reach, foul etc. notice how when its actually time to be able to make a 1 on 1 play where he either needs to make a play for someone else or him alone, he struggles. That's bc he lacks that specific area of basketball skills. he can't break players down off the dribble so he has to run through you. he's gonna either go hard left or right and continue to collide with players. he can't create consistently for others as a result.
No, I’m not. You didn’t noticed Harden struggling with Mathew’s defense and getting frustrated? This isn’t the Buck’s first game when he’s looked like that.
Harden outside of his three ball being off was great. He distributed the ball well and defended well.
just finished watching the whole game.. so Impressed with our defense and resiliency kudos to everybody now let get eg back so he will be familiar with scheme of things go rockets!!
Think you misread or misinterpreted my response. I said it is what Harden use to do. You remember on fast breaks he would just run right into guys to get contact for And 1s. Chris Paul does this too. If you see defender parallel you lower your shoulder into him. Obviously James Harden has way more skill than Giannis. And has crafted and change his game every year.
nah it isn't the same. huge difference as previously explained 1 player runs in a straight line and basically runs you over to get to the basket. the contact happens as a result the other players use their skills with the ball and craftiness to go around you or create something for themselves, forcing the defender to be off balance and to foul as a result trying to recover. that's where the contact is
Harden didn’t have a good game, but the bucks entire defense is about clogging the paint and daring opponent centers to make 3s. If P.J. just made 40% instead of 15% of his wide open 3s Harden would have had open lanes and killed them on drives.
