Truth is, if there was a 7ft, agile defender with range to 28 feet, THAT guy would be starting.

But right now, there isn't, so this is what we've got.

I doubt the plan was to say we only want guys under 7 ft.

It just happened to work out that way because Davis/Zinger wasn't available.

I don’t think the Rockets will the championship but it won’t be because small ball didn’t work: I think they will run into a team who can play just as small and are better at it. IE Clippers. They have so many long and rangy wing players that can also switch everything.
They will 100% make all the teams adjust to their style. So in that sense it will be a success.

Not only are they tall, these guys are hefty and can move. The Lopez brothers can both shoot from three or go inside.

The league has its own narratives; they WILL tell their story. As long as we NEED calls it will never happen. Bubble or not it’s still the NBA. The officiating will take away key moments along our journey to a championship.

last night Harden was fouled and should have shot 3 FT on our last play of offense during regulation. The Covington put back was a thing of beauty but not really needed in reality if the game was officiated right.

First off I’m out. I keep seeing all these harden defensive posts like he wasn’t terrible on d for 3 quarters yesterday and we weren’t getting killed on the boards.

Now.. what you said I 1000% agree with. If we had cov in CP’s first year, and maybe even second I think we beat the warriors. He’s the stretch 4 we’ve needed FOREVER. If it doesn’t work, I say run it back and find a rim running 5 or a stretch 5

I am not scared of the Lopez brothers. Whenever the Greek Cheat is on the floor they have to spot up on the perimeter to make way for him so they won't go inside that much. On the defensive end they are forced to guard our perimeter guys and Harden and Russ are absolutely going to torch him.

Not to mention they can't defend Harden from behind now that we went 5 out.

If I’m being honest, I saw more elite shooting and offense than I saw bad defense. Dallas has the best Offense in the league and they shot 43% from 3 (most of the game over 50%) there aren’t many teams in the league that can go point for point with Rockets.
when it came down to it Rockets put clamps down.

The shots were wide open. I don’t know what you guys do to convince yourselves that, “ the other team was just hot”. Yea, everybody is hot against us

MDA made in game adjustments which we normally don’t see.

Rebounding struggle comes with small ball. That was expected.

Our defense in the first half was awful. Second half was much better. This team can't sustain a high level of defense for a long time.

First, I don’t know who “you guys” are. Second “you guys” that can’t see the extra pass leading to a wide open shot and many that were contested being hit at above a 50% clip for the majority of the game, means that team is hot.
League average is 36%, they were shooting the lights out.

Porzingis probably had his best game of the season. No coincidence.

He’s healthy and he shot well. Roco had some nice defensive plays on him too.
Some players with size and shooting ability will give us trouble no doubt.

    Hear me now clutch fans

JEFF GREEN is really the X factor

if we can get him more minutes and involve him more in scoring ( lots of P/R)
I think we can survive with some luck ..

A defensive minded GREEN would work wonders when we need someone to guard Greek / Lebron/ joker etc...

Even if he’s Defense isn’t all nba. he’s gonna be needed to step up big time. Only skilled “ big” we got. ( not really a big)

c’mon eagle, terrible on D for 3 quarters is flat out false

he made too many defensive plays to count...he clamped Luka several times

he had a bad stretch containing dribble penetration in the 3rd quarter because he had 4 fouls at halftime and was avoiding drawing any contact on drives so as to not draw a 5th or possibly foul out

Unfortunately, that’s the bottom line. I think we can beat Utah even if they have home court advantage, but it will get harder after that.
