If yo put DW on the Patriots right now, he's winning a ring. Maybe not 5 or 6, given the juggernaut that is now potentially the Chiefs, but he's winning at least one.
There is no extension deadline for Watson. He can sign one at ANYTIME. This deadline was for people with Franchise Tags.
Don't forget the way Mahomes sat across the field and used a Jedi mind trick on O'Brien to make him kick a FG instead of going for it on 4th down in the Chiefs' territory and then stupidly going for it on 4th down from his own 35 yard line. That Mahomes is a bad dude. He plays offense, defense and can trick opposing coaches into make decisions that a high school coach would call asinine.
It was a total organizational failure of which Watson shares some of the blame. Along with Cal,BOB,RAC etc... waterboy
The Chiefs defense wasn't bad to begin with, a blown coverage. a couple of ST's breakdowns helped the Texans to the 24-0 lead. I'm not saying the defense didn't suck, but if the offense had controlled the ball a little there wouldn't have been enough time to score 51 pts in 3 qtrs.
Only thing i can fault watson for during the chiefs game collapse is listening to his dumbass coach. Granted its not ideal to outright ignore chain of command but those playcalls were asinine.
Im struggling with it myself. He hasn’t proven enough in my book. Let the season ride. Plus - getting some distance from the Mahomes contract couldn’t be a bad thing. That really feels like a non-corona impacted salary. Let’s see what happens with Dak.
I agree, Watson in KC equals a title too. Better coaching and better organization to supplement and mask Watson's strength and weaknesses.
Sounds like Watson doesn't want to commit to Obrien long term. If it's Obrien versus Watson, nobody takes Obrien.
Oh the Texans would buddy. They LOVE King Billy Bob and would ship Deshaun's butt outta here in a millisecond while giving Obrien the contract extension. Then Billy Bob would hold a press conference and say he did it for the TEAM.
