    https://lastwordonbaseball.com/2020...oldis-chapman-tests-positive-for-coronavirus/

According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, six-time all-star closer, Aroldis Chapman, has tested positive for the coronavirus. Chapman is the third Yankee to test positive for the coronavirus, after his teammates, D.J LeMahieu and Luis Cessa tested positive earlier in the week. Boone also said that Chapman has had mild symptoms with the virus. Chapman is one of the many all-star players around the league who have tested positive including Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman, San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, and Texas Rangers slugger Joey Gallo.

At the rate they are going, many teams will have herd immunity by the time the season starts in a few weeks.

Posey is more of a big name than a true difference maker at this point

    Rather have Gurriel than Longoria

Belt is intriguing though, he has done well outside of SF

But a huge majority of the positive cases to this point were players/personel who were infected before they came back. I'm not expert on Covid like some on here, but I have heard from a lot of "doctors" and "scientists" that it takes a bit after being infected before you will test positive. Not saying none of the positives are from cases spread in camps, but it's very unlikely

As i've said before, going into an environment where you are constantly tested and constantly told to stay home when not at the park will certainly reduce the risk of these guys contracting Covid. NOT saying none will get it at parks, but they are certainly more likely to not get it under these conditions

Factoring in false negatives (up to 30%) and the fact that they’re only going to be around other teammates from here on out are factors that can lead to spread amongst a team.

I’m not saying its likely... but its certainly possible that a team may have 4 or 5 players test positive within a short span (usually 2 weeks is the lag time). MLS teams have gone through similar mini-outbreaks, and have had to withdraw from initial tournaments.

MLB and players’ union have reached agreement on a variety of previously unresolved issues regarding individual contracts, sources tell The Athletic. Deal covers how vesting options, roster bonuses and other clauses would be calculated in abbreviated 2020 season.

Highlights of new MLB-PA agreement, per source:

*All vesting options for ‘21 will vest at full amounts (Andrew Miller’s $12M option would still be worth $12M)

*The thresholds for the vests will be prorated (Miller needed 37 games pitched in 2020; number now reduces to 14).

*Bonuses will be prorated (a $200K bonus for 200-inning threshold would round up to 74 1/3 innings and bonus would be $74,333).

*Roster bonuses paid at prorated amounts, postseason bonuses paid at full amounts.

*Days spent on COVID list count as roster days for bonuses.

I read that as baseball activities resuming has likely decreased the number of players, staff getting COVID-19. Granted, the scary part regarding COVID -19 are the auxiliary activities associated with games (e.g., travel).

MLB should have come up with 3 "bubbles" for the games since teams are just playing against their division in the AL and NL. The Astros and Rangers travel schedule is ridiculous.

Pretty sure they already have Buffalo ready to go, and are idiots if they don't. Doubt it is an issue.
