Hard to see how Colleges can open up. College dorms are right up there with cruises as the biggest petri dishes in the world. Everyone gets sick living in the dorms. Now put covid in there.
I'm a teacher in HISD. We have no plan as of now. And I don't think the district is even prepared in terms of health safety for the kids (how the hell is bus transportation supposed to work?). I honestly have no clue what the new school year will be like, but I'm fully expecting to start it off virtually. The spike in Covid cases is just too alarming.
CCISD appears to be trudging forward with in person with a limited online option. Every time I watch one of their public meetings them seem more and more unclear as cases spike. Apparently the idea of a hybrid was scrapped entirely. Trying to do solely online may not be feasible even if it wasn’t limited due to my wife’s work. I was able to mostly transition to work from home, But my wife is a teacher for the district. We have done well with precautions up to this point but I feel all the work we’ve done to keep the family safe will be taken out of our hands come august.
