We're good on forwards, Covington, House, Tucker, Green, Carroll, McLemore, Caboclo...we're good. Tyler gives us the 4th guard we need to put up buckets in garbage time. Harden/Westbrook/Gordon/Rivers is good, but we don't want to put mileage on them. At 6'3", he'll take minutes from Clemons who couldn't put up enough 3s to stay significant, plus has more impact in the league, and Clemons is a NG contract lext season. Not a bad pickup if the contract is of equivalent exchange.
what a joke the only interest I have in this move is that maybe they can retain him for cheap if we lose Rivers or trade EG and his sh*t contract over the summer
Wouldn’t be mad at this signing at all. Someone who can play now just in case and also insurance if rivers and EG aren’t on the team down the line
Clemons cannot play in our current system, not able to switch everything. Would love this move, hope it's not Morey's final move this season. Still need at least one more big: Jonah Bolden, Justin Anderson or Ryan Broekhoff
Why? This is not Morey like to tell his move before unless it’s on a big name player which T. Johnson is not.
i get that clemons is too small to switch, but johnson has been horrid the past couple years and it would be a miraculous reclamation project to bring him back to circa 2017 in just 8 games
But Johnson can get hot and has the length and athleticism that fits team need. But most importantly, Johnson could actually get playing time THIS season - Clemons will not.
??? We always know which players Morey is targeting in the waiver wire or buyout market, and none of them are ever big name players.
