Not far away...from the City of Roses They all put the lights out in the rain....It's DB Cooper drinking champagne.
Welcome to the D&D World! In case you weren't aware, there were two of those games, and the 2nd one was even more complex compared to the first one. Capcom made some of the best beat 'em ups. D&D along with Alien vs. Predator were probably the pinnacle of the genre. *edit now that I think about it, you must be referring to the 2nd one since you mention 6 players. The 1st one only had 4 characters. For me it was probably mostly about shmups (Galaga, Side Arms, 194x, Raiden), beat 'em ups, and fighting games. Although to be honest, the only fighting game I really felt I had mastery over was Killer Instinct 2. It took me years before I could figure out how to do a shoryuken in SF2.
My friend had the Dragon's Lair PC CD-ROM game. I was able to get through the whole thing without dying back in the day. We even did a video recording of it with a digital camera and a video capture card back in the day when 320x240 was high resolution, but I think we lost the file in a HDD crash awhile back. Obviously nothing special from a gameplay point of view, but still an awesome game.
I remember the first time I saw it. There was a crowd of at least 50 people around it and it had a second monitor on top so you could see from the back if you were short. Exciting thing for a 10yo.
That was cool. I also recall when Donkey Kong first came out in Baytown. Thing was placed on a pedestal & we all gathered around to watch it.
Just seeing this thread, and I'm sure its already been mentioned but my favorite arcade game was always Final Fight. For a beat'em up before the whole Street Fighter 2 craze, this had some of the best graphics and music of anything out there in 1989. I even convinced my mom to buy it along with my SNES back in 1990 when the SNES first came out. I recently found this fan made game Super Final Fight Gold on YouTube and really want to play it all the way thru
That’s amazing!! It’s going on my MAME cabs this weekend. There are some awesome fan made / home brew games out there. The entire MUGEN line is a fighting game fan’s dream come true.
Dude, I really have always wanted to build a MAME cabinet. My only thing is I know I would need to spend a lot of time researching how to build one with the specs I want, dumping money into it, building it, and then ultimately getting bored of it fast. That's just the way I am, and that's what's prevented me from pulling the trigger on doing it.
i think the first arcade game i ever touched was art of fighting 1. i must have been like 4 and i remember that you could rip king and yuri's shirt off if you beat them with a special move lol. kof 94 is the game i played and enjoyed the most. bootleg snk cabinets were all over mexico in the 90s.
