There's only one change that needs to be made and that's to have civilian oversight committee's for police instead of police oversight of police. That solves the problem of police not being held accountable for their misdeeds.
No. I would have those people be random , much like jury duty .... so they aren't just a set group of people who could be manipulated / extorted / bought off.
That makes sense but I'm thinking more along the line of educated people, maybe a minimum of a 2 year degree with rotating citizens every 1-2 years. All races obviously and no one with a past association with law enforcement...but that may not be possible.
Without question , a requirement of college is discriminatory .... and isn't that what we are trying to avoid ? Only about 47% of Americans have a 2 year degree and less than 30% have a 4 year degree and those numbers are lower for blacks and hispanics. Only 9% of blacks have a 2 year degree , 14% a 4 year degree and 7.8% have a post graduate degree. You are limiting 69.2% of the potential pool. Most of the victims of police brutality are not ever going to be on that review board if college is a requirement. Basically , just like jury duty - any registered voter regardless of education level , income , race or religion. The only caveats would be felons and "law enforcement".
I would like fair competent cops and if educated or uneducated civil oversite does the job I'm all for it.
Obviously letting the police and their unions oversee their potential misdeeds hasn't worked. How better to do it fairly than to have everyday people / taxpayers overseeing the people they pay to protect them. That is without a doubt the most logical solution - one that does not include government involvement in the actual decision making.
Aunt Jemima is changing it's name and look. I've never had Aunt Jemima pancakes but I'm outraged! Bisquick is fluffier. Lately, I've been having Crepes more. What's next Uncle Ben's rice? And if we rename them to Tio Juan's rice we're back at square 1 !
The biggest group against change for all is being rallied by this pathetic excuse of a man. Please vote this man out in November. I feel sick and sad for all the young kids growing up now who see a mad psycho like this as their President. I grew up in such different times, and saw great men as Presidents. My how times have changed. This video clip disgusts me. What a sad excuse for a President. Americans deserve so much better. The world deserves so much better.
Only change a man needs to be concerned about is a change of under wear. Stop smelling your own ashe! Stay safe!
"On Thursday, the Texas country trio officially dropped the word "Dixie" from their name, removing a reference to the Civil War-era South. The Chicks also released a new protest song called March March."
