I saw these guys in a clip on Twitter at the huge protest in Houston yesterday. I don't know who they are, but I then remembered reading about some black dudes in Compton that ride around on horses : https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/31/us/compton-cowboys-horseback-riding-african-americans.html

Then, one thing led to another, and I had to learn a little bit more, so, not to make this all serious, but if you're interested :

I would imagine those are a bunch of the same guys who do the trail ride to the Rodeo every year. They're good people, glad @basso knows who they are now.

Looks fun, but you have to feel sorry for the one horse with the fat guy on him. Borderline animal abuse.

I always wonder if the horses talk amongst themselves about how fat their owner has become.

Why did I get the fat one, horse Jesus??

Those look like Kentucky saddlers to me, only about 5 speed bars on RD2.

This thread makes me wonder... what's the deal with police horses? Who takes care of them? Does HPD have stable boys? Are the cops just cops, or, like.. horse people? Are they sitting on a farm all day like... petting the horse and hanging out with them until it's time to be deployed?

Despite being only 14% of the nation, about 25% of the Cowboys in the old West were black. All those old western movies in the 30's-60's were wrong. In many small towns in Texas, you'll still see black people on horses..its not really uncommon.

The horse at 0:15-0:17 in OP's vid is really feeling himself/herself.
