Ann Coulter doesn't know if she will vote for 'defective man' Donald Trump , Yahoo News•May 27, 2 Ann Coulter doesn't know if she will vote for 'defective man' Trump Ad: 6s Conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter has soured on Donald Trump and took to Twitter last weekend to make sure he knows it. Coulter, who was an early champion of Trump’s and even wrote a book entitled “In Trump We Trust,” said she can’t commit to voting for the president in November. “He’s a defective man,” Coulter said in an interview with the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery.” “Does that mean he shouldn’t be reelected? I don’t know.” She added that instead of voting for Trump or his challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden, she will “probably write in Jeff Sessions.” Sessions served as Trump’s attorney general until November 2018, when he resigned at the president’s request. Prior to stepping down, Sessions endured months of public criticism from Trump over his decision to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Coulter, a controversial right-wing provocateur, was one of Trump’s most outspoken backers during the 2016 campaign; her book “Adios, America” laid out many of the themes Trump echoed in his attacks on Mexicans seeking to immigrate to the United States. Coulter’s relationship with Trump has been strained for several months, largely because, she said, she is disappointed the president has not done more to stop illegal immigration. But a few days ago things took a turn for the worse when Coulter became enraged over the president’s renewed criticism of Sessions, who is seeking to be reelected to his old seat in the U.S. Senate in his home state of Alabama. Last week, Trump began attacking Sessions on Twitter again, saying he “let our country down.” Sessions responded that he did his “duty and you’re damn fortunate I did. It protected the rule of law and resulted in your exoneration." In her own extended Twitter rant, Coulter lashed out at Trump, calling him, among other things, “a complete blithering idiot,” “a shallow and broken man” and “the most disloyal actual r****d that has ever set foot in the Oval Office.” A longtime Sessions loyalist, Coulter said she is not sure Trump can win in November. Lamenting the president’s proclivity for sending “trash tweets,” she added that his presidency has been a disappointment “to all of his supporters, whom he has done nothing for.” “He’s a big betrayer and those tend not to do well in politics,” she said. “Could be it would be better to just get him out of office.” Coulter said she is particularly enraged that Trump is targeting Sessions amid his campaign to win back his former Senate seat in Alabama. She pointed out that Democrats appear poised to retake control of the Senate, making it all the more stunning to see the president undermine Sessions publicly. “There would be more decorum if you put Zippy the Chimp in the White House,” she said.
I wonder how she feels about what Trump said today. we could see the military fighting its own civilians 4 more years of Trump, and America will no longer exist
Yeah she knows how to hit him where it hurts. I don't think she will be the last going after him, they know his time is limited so it's time to jump ship.
I kind of don’t take her seriously at this point. I know she isn’t as relevant and going after Trump gives her some renewed interest. I think it’s better to watch Hannity, and others at Fox to get a better idea of his support on the right. I honestly don’t think the right wing machine will leave him for one second. The right wing billionaires have too much at stake to abandon Trump in any way. Heaven forbid they have Biden be elected and have to roll back their tax giveaways, have to stop polluting our rivers and water supply, and have a Justice Department that doesn’t let them grift with white collar crimes.
I think you underestimate the impact of Coulter while not as great as Hannity she is still a Fox news regular and has a huge following. We are talking about slim margins and Trump cannot afford to lose any of that support because he is not gainig any support.
Probably never. It's more people breaking from their bubble or changing their minds at all, in America, that attracts interest. Like if Michael Moore became a Trump supporter. I don't follow him or care about him, but it would be weird, so I would probably not keep myself from clicking that link.
Remember when y’all laughed at her on Real time with Bill Maher, when she said Trump will be president? You laughed at the wrong time, now should be the time.
Yeah he can't lose a single voter from his base. He's obviously freaked out by potentially losing voters which explains his garbage stunt yesterday to hold up the bible at St. Johns was designed to appeal to his evangelical base who believe he is God's chosen one to lead them through the apocalypse. However, he does have people that voted for him because of one single issue (abortion) from the Catholic base voter that might take issue with him, but I'm still skeptical. My wife is Catholic and I know that base is fragmented pretty bad on politics because they believe in supporting immigrants, etc. but are very VERY hardcore about being pro-life so there is a split on Trump. However I know those that were about Trump before are going to be hard to move off of Trump. My wife's dad who is hardcore Catholic worships the guy. It's just so hard to see a meaningful break from Trump with his base, but you are right that it's about the margins with Trump who cannot lose anything. Coulter breaking is... interesting of course... ANY prominent Right Winger breaking is eye opening at this point, but I think Trump has obviously seen more risk in Evangelicals which is making him act out and wanting to jump more into an authoritarian extremist which he thinks is appealing to the Evangelicals which he isn't wrong in a way, but we'll see how it plays out.
