Why does the national sports media constantly try to erase or slap asterisks on Houston's championships?

Do we have to pool our money and fund a documentary proving Michael Jordan played in 1995 and that the Rockets were the best team in mid-90s and would've beaten the Bulls had they met in the finals?

In medieval times, knights and royal figures would hire bards to go out and sing their praises and regale the peasants with tales of their heroics and good deeds. In sports today there are media bards for the teams in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Boston, etc. Where are Houston's bards? What well-known Houston columnist, reporter, or radio host is ever on ESPN or Fox setting the record straight and pushing back on lazy, false narratives about Houston teams or athletes? What local column, article, or sports radio rant ever goes viral and makes people reconsider an opinion about a James Harden or Astros controversy? Houston sorely needs some bards.

What’s amazing was 95 season was a ratings bonanza because Jordan came back and they new hot players like penny and Shaq .
If people can remember lil penny than how can they forget Jordan played and the rockets won ?

He comes off like such a nice guy like one of those wholesome characters from 50’s shows. Not too many people come off that way.

I had plans to watch the documentary.......then I realized I am giving ESPN ratings and clicks for them to continue to suck on MJs balls.
Enough. 90s is over. Move on.

Drexler always had a scraggy hairline when he played for portand.
Drexler got better after he got a better hair cut and he went bald like Jordan.

Clyde Drexler did away with the rescinding hair line and won a championship.

Made him more aerodynamic. He grew as a man as he accepted his baldness without shame.

The difference was that they didn't have a big in '95. No grant, nor Rodman.

Backcourt was weak defensively as well
They had to bring in Ron Harper

Another thing not brought up is 97-98 was clyde's last dance too, He announced it around the half way mark of the season. I was sad to hear this but at the time at least he went out on his own terms.

Anybody else hate Michael Jordan so much they have no desire to watch the show?
He was a good basketball player but generally a jerk.

Many people dont recall the strike of 98 because the league plays extensive damage control surrounding entire event.

Yes. Jordan never committed past 98 in hopes of gaining leverage against the 1998 nba owner lockout and season strike.

The bulls owner Jerry krause hinted at the nba strike with his statement..."It doesn't matter if you go 82-0...this is it".

Basically Krause was a nba owner, and Krause was taking sides with the nba owners because the owners was ready to "lockout" the players because of nba contracts.

Both players stats were quite similar to what they were in the regular season. Bulls won in 6, so hardly a lopsided series. How did Jordan 'own' him then? By putting up his normal stats?

Further, Drexler's attitude and comments don't seem related to that. Seems more like he thinks Jordan is an A-hole, in which he's probably right. I think he'd have pretty much the same opinion if they'd never met in the Finals...or even if the Blazers had won.

I didn't like drexler when he couldn't coach at university of Houston. It was
embarassing because the teams were really bad.

Carl Lewis was ahead of Clyde until Clyde struck gold wiith "Big 3".

    Jordan dominated that series.

Drexler averaged 25.0/game in the regular season and 24.8/game in the finals.

Jordan averaged 30.1/game in the regular season and 35.8/game in the finals. That's an improvement of 18.9% over the regular season.

Jordan's efficiency went up in the finals.

    Jordan regular season: 51.9% FG%, 27.0% 3pt%, 57.9% TS%
    Jordan in the finals: 52.6% FG%, 42.9% 3pt%, 61.7% TX%

Drexler's efficiency went down in the finals

    Drexler regular season 47.0% FG%, 33.7% 3pt%, 56.0% TS%
    Drexler in the finals: 40.7% FG%, 15.0% 3pt%, 52.2% TS%

Jordan had better numbers and was more efficient than Drexler in the regular season. In the finals, Jordan's scoring went up by almost 6pts per game and his efficiency went up as well. Drexler scoring average was about the same but he was much less efficient.

When your opponent outscores you by 11 per game,is much more efficient and they win the series 4-2, then you got owned. That doesn't even take into consideration all of the big plays Jordan made in that series. Portland had two huge 4th quarter comebacks to steal 2 games but the series wasn't close.

Throughout the '92 season and going into the finals, people were comparing Drexler to Jordan. Nobody made that comparison after the '92 Finals.

Clyde drexler might not be happy with jordan because Jordan made Clyde foul out of two nba finals games back in '92.

Can't remember if Clyde drexler had a s-curl hair process from back in the day?
