You guys remember HOW MAD Nique was when Harden scored 60pts in 3 quarters? I watched the Hawks broadcast and that dude was MAD!

Harden also broke his record of most consecutive free throws made in a game.

What Robinson did was widely perceived as a joke at the time. By all. And for me, it was always who he was. A player that would dominate the Olden Polynice's of the NBA then fade when Hakeem, Shaq or Ewing came to town.

So basically like Kobe’s last game, Klay breaking the threes record and probably loads of others. More rare back then though and to actually hate on Robinson for scoring 71 is just silly. He was great and did good against Dream or Shaq, outplayed Hakeem in a couple of games, just was never great nor dominate him like Dream did to D-Rob.

Man the full video is hilarious.

Nique: "I'm gonna tell you how crazy the Clippers were. When I first got traded to the Clippers, you know I'm pissed off 'cause I got traded. I go in the locker room, I see this kid wearing a pair of Clippers shorts and a long T-shirt. And again I'm pissed off. I say "Hey ball boy. Go get me some socks."

He said "I ain't no damn ball boy. I play on the team."

Nique: "I didn't know... It was Randy Woods. I never seen the guy play."

Ron Harper: "That is a true story."

There was a season in the late 70's and it came down to the last day of the season for the scoring title and David Thompson scored 73 but then George Gervin scored 63 and won the title

Yup the '77-'78 season. Big shame there isn't footage of that.

I don't like it. But teams helping their guy with individual achievement isn't new. Ask Westbrook's teammates in OKC.

Yeah, it is whatever. Scorers pad their stats in blowouts and against crappy teams all the time. Robinson's scoring title is as legit as any other.

It's tainted, put an asterisk by it.

D-Rob was also more known as the body builder who focused on muscle textures and looking extremely sculpted and defined versus a Shaq for example.

Rarely has one seen that kind of physique.
    No bogus there.

Everybody knew in the last game the Spurs were trying to get Robinson the scoring title. That's nothing new. I think what's new was that they said Sterling wanted him to get the title/keep it in the West.

Robinson's physique was incredible. I never saw fat on that dude until he retired. In interviews he's stated that he used to eat a lot of junk food in college, but needed to gain weight once he got to the NBA since he was lighter than the other big guys, and he also had to eat better. There was one point he said he was eating something like 5000-6000 calories a day to gain weight.

The guy that went ballistic with his weight training was Karl Malone.
