Interesting take, for sure, if Morey was on another team, China itself wouldn't be so mad.

They did think the Rockets were a home team thanks to Yao and Les so the slightest criticism must feel like a betrayal.

Once upon a time it was a 2 way street and the franchise flourished with Chinese money, you cannot ignore the partnership because there was this breakup.

    Life goes on.

Morey signed a 5 year extension last year. Tilman is likely too cheap to fire him outright.

    Could be.

HK seems to adopt the strategy of low testing BTW.

I think Harden is good enough to win rings,

Morey and MDA are not good enough to win rings.

If we are going with Futurama characters, then I would say Trump is Zap and Tillman is Donbot. Not sure who Morey is... maybe the professor?

Not trying to stir the pot, this is a genuine question. Do you believe because McHale/Isiah/Magic know the game they would make for a good GM, making GM decisions?

Maybe McHale he had some success in Minnesota. Isiah was a train wreck in NYC. Not sure what to make of Magic. BIG name in LA obviously but seems like Pelinka is getting things done now.

WTF...knows the game? Pretty sure that 'nerd' knows the game better than most. Losing Morey will set the Rockets back for a long time..

I was being 100% sarcastic. People think that being an all-star player translates to GM. They are completely different skillsets and don't have to overlap at all. GMs are CEOs. Players operate at an individual level, coaches operate at a team level, GMs have to operate at a league level.

I like DM a lot as GM - but it might be in his best interests to go somewhere else....

I am cheaper than Tilman. Tilman is not cheap.

fact: Morey + MDA = 12 million salary

    If I were Tilman,

    each one gets 3 million

    why,?

I trade 5 future firsts obligation for the 4th to 6th seed in the west.

I spent 7 million dollars more than Lakers this season.

Mostly average players and college players, amateur players make good coaches or GMs.

    Some didn't even play.
