Neighbors talk... show footage... that is just as likely as oh hey a black person. Must be a crime.

 

But... they didn't talk to any neighbors prior to going after him. Regardless, unless they talked to the homeowner (who admittedly did not know or talk to the men) they had no factual knowledge if he was authorized or not.

In retrospect, he wasn't authorized, but they didn't know that prior to confronting him with guns.

 

This is kind of lost in the story: if you've ever interacted with a HOA, it's nearly 90% asshats. They are generally the types of people who for whatever reason want to tell other people what they can and cannot do. They spend a surprising amount of time looking out their windows and hallucinating problems out of thin air.

In no way am I saying race wasn't a primary factor. Just worth keeping in mind that HOAs gonna HOA.

 

I specifically got on our HOA board to keep the crazies in line. Turns out most of the crazies were the homeowners.

That being said, I know one board member would have acted similarly regardless of race

The other more important thing, is that at the time they chased him with guns, they didn't know if he was authorized to enter the property. When our house was being built, people were coming and going at varying times. One Sunday, there was a guy there unexpectedly. Turns out he was doing some tile work to get a head start on the week.

 

He's basically doing and saying this crap on purpose to get some attention and bait people into arguing with him...

For some odd reason he gets off on it... it's his form of entertainment...

Jesus talk about entitled white people. From chasing and shooting a black man, to detaining a man doing his job for an hour.

How warped is your sense of value if you think it is acceptable to try and randomly detain black people.

Call the police if you are concerned. We have police to handle problems. I cannot fathom the level of entitlement to think you can just stop black people and play amateur detective.

 

When we were looking to build our home we legit went into every one that was our floor plan being constructed all the time with or without workers there.

Not once did anyone say something to us. This is a gated community as well.

 

I think the beautiful thing about this thread, is, despite the bickering.... we can all agree that HOA dude is a dick.

 

I've seen unmarked security follow me around in non gated neighborhoods as well. It depends on the place you go. Some are paranoid, have cameras everywhere, and assholes who get all up in people's business.

Not really, dipshit. Whites designated cordoned off places for blacks decades ago, and conditioned their white children to avoid them while enforcing exclusivity in their spaces. This is how native Americans get the cops called on them during college tours.
