Watching it Last Dance it really bothers me that every major Houston Sports Championship will have an asterisk. The Rockets run people asterisks because we didn't face Jordan. Forgetting of course that Jordan played in the 1995 playoffs. Now the 2017 Astros Championship is asterisked because of banging on trashcans.. Maybe I have too much time on my hands but this is really bugging me..
don’t care about the Astros, their cheating asses can keep that asterisk Rockets on the other hand have no asterisk...MJ was there in 95, and to keep it real, he’s lucky he didn’t play in an NBA finals in 94 or 95 because he wouldn’t have this undefeated record in the finals
Are you actively trying to piss me off? eta: I've got nothing to say about the NBA/NFL, but as far as baseball goes (and totally acknowledging that the Astros were in the wrong) if you're going to start doling out asterisks you'll run out of asterisks post haste.
Somehow doing roids while staying at home seems like a waste. I mean if I can show off how pumped I am on the beach or crush a few balls out of the park what's the point? Speed when you have little do to probably isn't a good idea. I would say heroin but probably wouldn't want to post on Clutchfans if doing heroin.
Rockets have no asterisk. They didn't cheat and Jordan played. In 1995 Jordan's bulls lost to the magic 4-2. The same magic team we whooped 4-0. And don't say it's because we were seeded higher...nope. We were 6 in west and bulls were 5 in the eastt.
I think the 95 Rockets title run is one of the most under-rated in history. Sixth seed. I think they have the record for most road wins in a run?. They beat basically all the best record teams in the NBA, and they swept the FInals.
Of course but all you hear from the pundits is how the Rockets never faced Jordan so at best the Rockets were just caretakers. Even 25 years later it still pisses me off..
Also, the Sonics couldn't get to the conference finals either year; but had beaten us the year before and after. Was much less nervous about the Jazz and the Spurs once they were out of the way, especially after getting Drexler.
All of the late '80s / early '90s Houston football success. Andre Ware was done as a pro QB by Columbus Day and the Oilers imploded once Moon left, because the Run-N-Shoot was a flag football offense.
