Another shining example of Trump only thinking about his own interests (reelection chances), not what is best for the American people.
My daughter turns five on May 19, and barring a miracle cure or vaccine by the time school starts this fall, my wife and I will be pushing her Kindergarten start back a year to 2021-2022 when she is six.
Or maybe that for each of 400 to 500 kids in a school, along with staff, teachers, and personnel, that the number multiplies dramatically for all their family and friends they have contact with. Add in the fact that some of those kids and staff have family members either 60 or over, or with health conditions living in their house.
It's not even 60 or over. People under 60 will get sick, some will suffer lung and or kidney damage and some will then die. This will include those under 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, and children. That's just the facts, as they exist right now
Arizona made their decision whether to "open" easy... they simply stopped the study that was showing they needed to delay opening... https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/06/...tml?referringSource=articleShare#link-9f9e76e
Our 7 day average of new cases is 1,109 in Texas, yet Mr. Abbott is all for opening up non-essential businesses. Disgusting. Oh, but those making these big decisions agree that the old and sick can die for the future of their kids, right? https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/texas/

Cruz is just like Trump. All he tweets about is blaming China, when Texas and America is the problem they should be focused on right now! We are so far behind in testing per capita, not even close to being behind the curve, and they act like we are invincible to getting in a far worse situation. Push on, reopen, and get the money flowing. Push your false and dangerous agendas and ignore the warning signs. Trump only kept Fauci in his position after backlash. He said he didn't realize Fauci was so popular. I guess his expert opinion wasn't enough, and his difference in Trump's opinion was a threat. Popularity and ratings changed his mind.
From a friend of mine on the DSHS Coronavirus response team: The number of confirmed cases and deaths are still increasing each day. So, yeah, let's open things up...
It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Trump and his cronies contracted the virus, since they don’t care about Americans and following public health standards during a pandemic. This article and the one about Arizona scrapping a study that showed the state should delay its reopening make me want to punch Trump and his political friends in the face.
How much of that attributes to increased testing? I'm hearing/reading conflicting reports on how Texas is doing. I heard our testing is now finally increasing, but are we actually "flattening" the curve...?
Not that it changes your point, but in the interests of accuracy it was 1 shooter (arrested) and 3 employees were sent to the hospital (all are fine). The story got updated after that tweet. https://www.newson6.com/story/5eb41...fy-woman-accused-in-sw-okc-mcdonalds-shooting
