Like James is going to have any of that. Everywhere he's gone has ended badly and people genuinely hate the guy. Daryl certainly can't see him as a fit. If he's offered a head coaching position by Tilman I won't be shocked, because he's an idiot and 5'2" Tilman believes he's some sort of tough guy and has expressed a desire to "play tougher." But I won't be pissed. Sure the Rockets' championship window will slam shut and shatter into tiny pieces. But Tilman deserves him.
I remember having a long discussion with someone on here about him, who didn't know about Thibs coaching history and how he is known to work his guys to complete empty tanks. If you think MDA is bad, just wait for this lol
Unless something has changed in the last month, this story is false from the Rockets front office stand point. I suppose ownership could decide to go this route and push it on the front office. However the front office has no interest.
Right before the pandemic was told the Rockets will pay him if he produces in the playoffs. Not entirely that simple though, MDA may not want to come back regardless. If you put a gun to my head I think MDA isn’t back. The real struggle is going to be between the Rockets front office wanting progressive coaches and the ownership possibly deciding on someone that isn’t progressive but is a big name. The front office will likely push hard for Kenny Atkinson to get an interview. He has a lot of traits that Morey likes and they have a lot of familiarity with each other.
