He'll likely move it to once a week, maybe take half a dozen questions, if any. If he gets some quack pot idea though, he'll be back on daily to tout it.

For the sake of the country, it's good the President would step away from the briefings. For raw entertainment, it's bad.

Polling (both legitimate and trump campaign internal polling) and public reaction showed these campaign rallies weren't not working...

I think it's a good idea not to have Trump speaking at these but there is a value in the briefings. The White House should still do them with Pence kicking them off and then leaving it to Fauci and Birx.

The press was not giving him honest coverage. They were acting like partisan propagandists - and being exceptionally hostile and disrespectful in the process. They don't deserve the right to ask questions if they are not going to cover things down the middle.

Compare that to how they treat Cuomo, who statistically, is doing the absolute WORST in fighting this virus. Over half of USA deaths in New York and this guy is in charge...

Wow. I have never seen Trump just quit before. His reaction to the disinfectant questions and behavior was a bit different... could he actually be a little embarrassed?

What are bankruptcy and settling out of court if not quitting?

We would forgive him for quitting the office and letting his VP take over. Or really just about anyone else except Medal of Freedumb winner Limbaugh or future Medal of Freedumb winner Hannity.

So... when the reporter asked the question "what do you say to the people of America who are scared" and he responded by telling her that was a nasty question...

What did you think of that response of his? It was a perfectly reasonable question as one thing people are looking for is hope. And yet, he responded the way he did.

I agree with Trader that early on questions were focused on his mistakes. Nothing to gain other than admission

In the end the delays on shutting things down are detrimental but not disastrous. He had economic justification to wait

Cuomo has done plenty to be criticized (many people on the Democratic side think that the governors of California, Washington and Oregon have done a better job and that Cuomo is overrated), but he has both handled the response itself better and handled the PR much better. The unprompted name-calling is completely self-inflicted. The same goes with the stuff about injecting lysol-- it was not done in response to any kind of aggressive questioning at all.

Yep... some questions are/were as you say, but then there are perfectly reasonable ones like the one I cited that he just goes off on for no reason.

The media is propping up Cuomo and trying to take down Trump... so you have a situation where a very mediocre politician in Cuomo, who is there because of his daddy (Mario Cuomo)... thinks he's doing better than he actually is. Reality is that Cuomo's decisions to keep mass transit running were DEADLY. The virus spreads like wildfire in the subway. Now we're learning that Cuomo released COVID patients to go back to nursing homes, also deadly. Nothing Trump has done has come close to creating as much death as those two Cuomo decisions. Yet the guy skates... and absurdly people are talking about a Presidential run. Such an insane double standard. Over half the country's death's are in NY... it's time for Cuomo to face some accountability.

Probably right. If he stays away from the briefings I wouldn't be surprised to see him back as soon as a pundit says the briefings are better without the President.
