I buy this as part of the reason the CDC and FDA completely bungled their jobs. Their first real data came from italy at the end of Feb early March. This isn't any excuse. First off, this is the only job the CDC has. Second, when you buy a known liars word after they kick out all of your journalists you are better to assume the worst.
Boris Johnson only has his own stupidity to blame. Nobody else in the world, including China, was advocating for the herd immunity strategy but that's what they were pushing for until it became clear that they wouldn't be able to get away with genocide in order to preserve their economy.
There is no question Boris Johnson is to blame for the failings of his COVID19 preparation. He exercised very poor judgment believing the CCP.
I want to make it clear, it is Boris Johnson’s fault that his nation wasn’t prepared. He was well aware that he CCP is a snake and he naively and foolish decided to trust them.
how dumb can you be. let me spread this to my wife and baby and others potentially taking care of them. idiot Man exposed to coronavirus hides symptoms so he can visit his wife in maternity ward https://www.click2houston.com/news/...XAdcwDnp5cuRwLpVufKqICzCmc0E_cCYB-Vf1jT_-4y8M
Look, it didn’t help that China lied. But, our gov’t did get information that this virus was dangerous and unlike a normal flu. We know this because several senators got busy and sold stock when they heard about this virus. I believe they got intelligence reports back in January. By the way. I believe there are many in our gov’t that could have done much better. We don’t know what really went on behind the scenes. I would have hoped that the CDC could have been on top of this and convinced Trump of the threat, and action taken much sooner. I also think state and local authorities need to be more prepared for something like this. Finally, what about hospital systems? Shouldn’t they also have a larger supply of gloves, masks, gowns etc? I mean, we pay more for healthcare than any other country in the world. We should be prepared for a disaster.
The UK wasn't the only one who tried "herd immunity". The Netherlands did too, Switzerland flirted with it, and Sweden still DOES. And there is no political demise for Boris Johnson. He is even more popular than before. Of course we will see when all is said and done, there are still about 10 days till the peak.
It's because it is a pandemic. Everyone is in need of the same supplies, equipment and medicine. The US probably planned to go buy what it is missing from outside, but when everyone is already fighting to buy it and they came too late... Now France has decided that after the first wave is over that they or at least Europe will have to become self reliant in medical and essential equipment and they won't have to rely on outsiders again.
The CDC made up a test, said all tests have to be like the one they made. That test turned out to suck. People had to send them back. At that time in Italy is apparent that this was a zombie apocalypse virus, and the CDC's blocking private companies instantly stopped and they begged for a test ANY tests. I don't give this as an excuse because the CDC should have made testing a bigger priority and got out of it's own way. People knew a recession was coming for a while, I don't put any stock in that.
6. There will be many more ventilators available, and the healthcare workers will have much more experience treating the disease 7. Most healthcare workers by that time will have become immune so they will not have to leave their post to be quarantined. 8. We will have found some kind of working treatments. 9. even if the immunity doesn't last for long..even if the virus mutates..people who had immunity will go through it much lighter than those who never have. We will have to live with this for about 3 years.
Like in the movies, some nerd rushes into the oval office and warns of imminent danger but they don't take it too serious.
But serious enough for them to unload their stocks that would be affected, and to buy stocks that would benefit from the danger.
One has to wonder if Sweden had a mild CV outbreak in the last few years, that is now giving them herd immunity. It will interesting to know years from now when it gets sorted why some infected with CV showed no or mild symptoms.
Everyone has been infected with CV. It's the common cold. Sweden is too stuck up about personal distance and the children move out of the house at 18 so their social structure makes it difficult for a child to infect their grandparents/parents. All Scadinavians are like this. However..when you have ski parties with 499 people and fill the bars and restaurants...do NO tests and move covid19 patients into elderly homes..that's not enough. It will just slow it a bit but that's it. They will be one of the worst hit countries in Europe.
There was a dude in Germany that thought people with those Swedish genetic features were big ballahs.
Well, for something a bit more positive, and even if it's not an immediate cure, it's interesting : This is no April Fool's.
