Is anyone planning to watch the dreaded 83 championship game CBS is showing from 1 to 3 today (as soon as this press conference is over)? I'm a glutton for punishment I guess, but it will at least be kind of cool to see Phi Slamma Jamma in action. At least until the last few minutes.......
A small part of me hoped for a different outcome... I had forgotten what an amazing game Akeem had. Of course, I turned it off with about 5 minutes left....but he had 20-something points, 18 rebounds and 7 blocks at the time. That was back in the day when his blocked shots would go to about halfcourt. Later in his career, he stopped doing that because he didn't want the offense to get the ball back. Raw Akeem was still so so good.
I don't know about y'all, but, that never goes away. Some days are worse than others. Yeah, let's relive our most heartbreaking sports moment, NOW.
i cant....being in the midst of march madness right which has been taken away still hurts big time. UH would have been a bracket buster
Hinton is a moron. There is no way he's going to get drafted. Not even close to his potential. Credit on the offensive boards, but that won't be there in the NBA and he''s an inconsistent shooter and scorer. Did he not see what happened to Davis Jr and Slick last year, who are both pure shooters. The nba discarded them like snow peas.
Dramatic much. In case you didn’t notice the option of returning is still very much there. Moron? Nah. This years draft is incredibly weak and he has the ear of kelvin. Corey Davis is a shooter stuck in a pg’s body who was done at UH. Brooks left early but is actually still a 2-way player in the league.
the potential if everyone returns w/ the incoming guys, sheeesh this team is going to have an abundance of talent from top to bottom. deepest rotation of talented guards in the nation
This is a non-issue. He’s not ready to be drafted, he will learn that he’s not ready soon enough, and he will be motivated to become a better player because of it. No biggie.
I could see Houston top 5 talent. Maybe not the record. But they are final 4 material. They have every ingredient. Length. Defense. Shot Blocking. Scorers. Rebounding. Steals. Go-To moves. FT and 3 point shooting. Depth. Speed. Shotmaking. Coaching. We might be a little shallow on offensive post play but White is decent and Harris does his Capela work. And although we don't have a Rob Gray, we do have players capable of going off offensively. The only thing left is for them to test the waters against equal talent. They have yet to prove they can do it against Duke, Kentucky, and the big boys. the NCAA is so shaky that Houston's average shooting is not a liability, and Houston has shown stability everywhere else. Hinton's void can easily be filled because he wasn't that reliable anyway. Personally, thought they could have won it this year. They are definitely in the discussion.
Hinton's potential void wouldn't be that easily filled. You definitely couldn't tell Kelvin that. He led this team in minutes by a significant margin, being the best rebounder, defender, and highest 3pt %, while also being the teams glue/leader. You were sour about him testing nba waters. that doesn't mean he's easily replaceable. he isn't. He just had his best season to date. There's no one on this team like him. nor is anyone coming in that is. not that reliable? please. he was one of the most reliable players on this team. you clearly didn't watch games enough, if you think anyone else on the coogs was more reliable than him. dude is a prime example of impacting winning in a variety of ways.
