BoB's checklist for who to overpay

Does he have less than 2 baby mamas? Yes
Does he suck up to Bill O'Brien (who wouldn't if you are getting paid $14 m more than you deserve)? Yes
    Does he work hard? Yes
Does he get better every day? Yes
Is he a fun guy to coach? Yes
    Is he versatile? Yes

    Here's $14 million extra!

I dunno. That Drake line does NOT sound positive to me at all. He’s not the type who is going to come out and directly rock the boat, he’s not going to call out his head coach, but for him to choose that specific line is kind of hard to ignore under the circumstances. That doesn’t happen by accident.

You trying to make it sound like Watson going after Hop doesnt make it any better, especially when that's the bigger reach.

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...Texans-deals-for-Eric-Murray-Jon-15152036.php

The Texans' investment in new safety Eric Murray is $18 million and includes $10.75 million guaranteed, according to NFL Players Association contract figures.

That includes a $4.5 million signing bonus and salaries of $2.75 million in 2020 that is fully guaranteed with $5 million in 2021 that includes $3.5 million guaranteed. Murray has a nonguaranteed $5 million base salary in 2022. The former Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns defensive back has an annual $750,000 playtime incentive and an annual $200,000 workout base de-escalator clause.

Veteran long snapper Jon Weeks, a former Pro Bowl selection, got a one-year, $1.187 million contract that includes $250,000 guaranteed with a $137,500 signing bonus, a $1.05 million base salary with $112,500 of it guaranteed. Weeks' deal applied the veteran salary benefit.

You're out of your mind. To the extent he's saying anything, it is that the 'iconic due' (him and DHOP) got ripped apart by the Texans. The fact that Hopkins applauded the tweet makes it crystal clear that it wasn't a shot at Hopkins.

I can’t help but think “Moneyball”. Nothing BOB’s doing rn makes any sense in the slightest. It all looks like he’s dead set on some hard line analytic formula he conjured up(well not him but someone actually smart) as a prayer to keep his job. The goofball contracts, trading our star players for mickey d coupons, all while the owner goes in hiding for months on end leaving fans disoriented... this is all world buffoon level and sickening to watch. Cal clearly does not give a ****. Roger Goodell should step in and force him to sell the team before this gets worse

No way Goodell would or should force McNair to sell the team. Regardless of what we think about losing in the first or second round of the playoffs, they are successful compared to other teams and they have sold out games every time

Everything done in the name of Deshaun & Laremy. :D

Fired the capologist? Gotta pay Deshaun & Laremy.
Traded Clowney? Gotta pay Deshaun & Laremy.
Traded Hopkins? Gotta pay Deshaun & Laremy.
Texans top 5 in cap space? Just saving it for Deshaun & Laremy.

Smith: Texans near top of NFL (in salary-cap space)

Why does it currently feel like they’re done making big signings (if you count $27 million for veteran receiver Randall Cobb as a big signing)?

Two obvious names top the list of answers: Left tackle Laremy Tunsil and Deshaun Watson, the organization’s young franchise quarterback.

Cap money can be moved around, massaged and saved. But the NFL’s salary cap is ultimately a hard one and the Texans know that Tunsil should soon receive a life-changing contract.

D4 is staring at the same beneficial scenario.

Highly frustrated fans want the Texans to do more. If the Texans didn't go 10-6, win their division and claim a playoff victory last season, you could easily call the post-Hopkins Texans cheap.

The Texans will spend big — when they pay Watson and Tunsil.

Cowboys paying Dak ($30M franchise tag)
    Paid Zeke
    Paid Amari
    Paid Jarwin
Paid OL (Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, La'el Collins)
Paid DL/LB (Tyrone Crawford, DeMarcus Lawrence, Jaylon Smith)

but Texans gotta trade away Hopkins, trade Clowney, can't afford any free agents because we gotta pay Deshaun & Laremy. :D

And that cap space is going to be claimed by Tunsil and Watson’s massive extensions. While a terrible defense just got worse after losing Reader and JJo.
