My favorite one was: a photo of hoodie on the phone: " Do you still want to trade Deshaun for Sony Michel?"

You guys sound like a bunch of women. Watson isn't the 1st QB to lose his favorite weapon. Nothing is happening. Geez. Watson isn't going anywhere.

The point isn't that the Texans will be smart with Watson (they almost certainly will not be) - but that Watson cannot, on his own, leave. The team controls him. So all this worry that him being unhappy will translate to him leaving is unfounded. His only option is to sit out and given the # of years the Texans can control him, that would not be advisable.

To be fair, Hopkins seems like he was unhappy and was able to leave even with 3 years left on his deal. For any normal team I would assume that Watson is different than an unhappy receiver but it seems like BOB just can’t deal with unhappy marquee players on his team.

So while normally I would agree with what you said, I wouldn’t put it past BOB to get fed up and give into Watson’s desire to leave (of course this is assuming deshaun wants to leave badly enough to make a stink about it, or that he wants to leave at all, which is all speculation at this point).

Watson joins Patriots, it's another dynasty right there.

    Definitely.
I think back to that story Cecil Shorts always shares that billy would show that 2015 team highlights of Brady and the pats offense and tell them "it works because it works in New England" Hoyer and Mallet!

as for Watson not going anywhere, that doesn't mean he is happy with this hot mess bob's ego created. You know what kind of p.o.s you have to be to make Watson upset? I've read enough hangout threads to know the worst is Diarrhea.
Billy by now has already been alerted to the tweet and to the likes.

I have a different opinion how it plays out.
Watson just needs to sit out a few games or btch about Texans/BoB and he will get freedom. The only good thing about this mediocre franchise is that they know how to get rid of disgruntled players quick even if it nets them negative value.

    Example: Brown, Clowney, Hopkins.

Brown had nothing to do with BoB, and everything to do with Rick Smith/Bob McNair (Smith would pay him, Bob McNair wanted Brown gone after his comments on race).

Nope. Different situation. There is NO WAY Cal McNair lets BoB trade Watson. He knows what this franchise was like without a QB. Not going to happen.

Yup. alpha players like watson can easily dictate not playing for a team if they so choose one way or another. That's just the reality of this players era. It'll be very significant sign when Watson doesn't agree to an extension deal done this summer.

    > Watson still has a favorable contract
    > Hopkins is the best receiver in the NFL
    > Texans keep flaming out and have never reached the AFC championship game
    > Titans, Jags, Colts might all have improved
    > BoB is still the HC. And GM. And supreme overlord.

It's not only that Watson lost Hopkins...it's that he lost him for absolutely nothing. Why would a player of Watson's caliber stay on a sinking ship? A ship with a captain that shows no signs of loyalty and trades you away when you have any sort of beef with him?

1 player. Not a sinking ship...LOL. Someone posted why Hopkins was traded (Julio Jones money). As good as Hopkins is, the Texans will survive without him. If you don't think so, feel free to find another team. Texans will survive BoB and move forward with or without him.

There is NO LOYALTY in Sports, IT IS A BUSINESS. Player RARELY take less money. Look at the NBA. Teams have ALWAYS traded and released players in the NFL when it suits them. Texans are not different. Tom Brady just left the Patriots. WTF you are thinking.....Loyalty? LOL.

Of course they'll survive...they're not going to fold the franchise, we all understand that. That isn't what anyone is talking about here.

They should just move like the oilers if they ever traded Watson.

I hope Cal understands how bad this will look on the organization if Watson wants out and gets traded. The Houston Texans waited 15 years to finally get a franchise QB, then they finally get one, and screw it up so badly that he doesn't want to play from them anymore.

Not only can you not trust the Texans to draft well, but you can't trust them to hold on to talent when they actually draft a star.

You seriously just used a player who spent 20 seasons with one team as an example of how a player (or team) isn't loyal?
