I honestly don’t know how Chinese buffets survive this? I love a good pig-out at a buffet every once in a while. I guess they could do take-out but it’s not really the quality to take out.Its about the quantity.

Last Saturday I went to one and it was pretty quiet. I know some do takeout by letting people fill a container and then measuring at the end. Maybe they can do that but only allow 10 people at a time inside.

I’m thinking about picking up 20lbs of crawfish for lunch. Need to figure out who is the closest that has them.

I know plenty restaurants in the Cypress area but are there any recommendations out there to patronage? Haven't bought food out all week for the first time in years and I want to get some places some business. I'm a stone's throw away from the board walk at towne lake if that matters.

Picked up some of the bake-it-at-home items from the new to-go Hey Merchant/Georgia James menu. Highly recommended.

I'm still worried about Gillhoolies...keep me posted re: the takeover.

Gotta keep those grilled oysters flowing.

I made a proper Tookie's Squealer the other day. You might have been proud.

Uber eats had $10 off $30 promotions and buy 1 get 1 entrees. Been ordering out everyday for the last couple weeks. I need to see a gym stat.

Since I bought a good amount of food we've been eating at home most days/nights. But have made a few exceptions...burgers from Little Matt's, chinese take-out, pizza from Bambalino's as they are all places I like and try to support (so three meals out in 12 days). Plus Bambalino's has a drive through. Trying to balance social distancing with trying to support small businesses as I feel for these restaurants. But we normally eat at home 5 nights a week anyway so nothing new.

That's what I understand as well from watching all the press conferences. You can only get it from breathing it in or touching your face.

If y’all are in the Heights area, Eureka Heights Brewery is hosting my college roommate who happens to have some of the best Korean food in town at his place, Yong (@ Finn Hall).

We’ve been ordering groceries from various sources and haven’t been having food delivered from restaurants, as much as we’d like to. We’re in the high risk category and just don’t want to take any chances. So we’re disinfecting/washing food items, ordering packaged, well washed lettuce, stuff like that. I’m stocking up with steaks and the like for the grill, fresh veggies, canned goods. Ordering from HEB, Central Market, Whole Foods and having it delivered.

It’s weird. The idea of being here for months on end with just the two of us, trying not to got crazy, unable to see our grown kids, our friends in and out of Austin. Very weird, and I really miss going out to eat, going to pubs, playing trivia with friends every week at one pub in particular, which I’ve been doing for 10 years. All of that’s shut down for who knows how long.

Thank god for streaming things on Netflix, Amazon Prime, premium channels on Google Fiber, games on my PC. I’ll be expanding my streaming sources, a lot. What else is there to do? I already keep the company that makes Viagra in business. There’s that. ;-)

We found out this evening that one of my significant other’s best friends has the Coronavirus. Someone she worked with for 20+ years. He’s in his mid ‘70’s. OK right now, but not good news. The virus is out there, people. Take nothing for granted. When we heard that, it brought home just why we’re doing a self imposed exile in our own house.

At least we’re pretty well off and the place is paid for. Those in the same situation, but living in an apartment and laid off? Maybe with kids to support? I would go nuts, worrying about paying the bills, feeding the family, worried about catching this damn virus and the whole family getting it. I really feel for them. Stay well, folks. The world has become strange. Strange and dangerous.
