If season is over will Dantoni be back next season?

    The NBA does plan to complete this season, we just don't know when.

    MDA will be the coach until the end of the season but I'm betting he doesn't get a new contract.

    Lue and Atkinson are the best out there and we'd be lucky to land either one. However Tilman is cheap and will just hire a rookie HC who will sign for less $$

    What does roster management have to do with missing 27 straight 3's?

    Did MDA sit better 3 point shooters during that series? And please do not say Ryno because he was scared to shoot AND could not hit broadside of the barn during that period (shooting slump extended to time with PHX, MIA and again with HOU).

    And a coach or FO can be innovative AND win. Rockets most winningest coach is Mike D'Antoni so I wish this BS would just die already.

    Mike is a winner, he just has not won a ring yet.

    The great genius D'Antoni... took what? 5 or 6 games for the league to figure out his crowning offensive strategy - and then losses to even the lowliest teams... smh...

    kick this stubborn fool to the curb already...

    Who's better? Idk... but I know MDA is stat padding fools gold...

    Pretty recent podcast done by Nate Duncan and John Hollinger ranking all of the coaches 1-30 with an in depth look at strengths and weaknesses.

    I’d wager MDA finishes MUCH higher on the list than people here would think.

    MDA is a good coach and has had an extremely successful run with the Rockets.

    All things must come to an end at some point.

    I would not be shocked if Kenny Atkinson is the coach next season.

    Atkinson coached for years under MDA and Bud..... so he has the type of back ground that the Rockets like. He also has a background in player development and is familiar with Daryl Morey as he worked for Morey.

    Atkinson did work under Morey with Rockets, agreed.

    Also coaching style matches up with Morey's analytics, layups and 3's as well as iso's almost as much as Rockets.

    Rumor out of Brooklyn is that they want D'Antoni. LOL

    I love how people insist he's an innovator... a genius... and that makes him a great coach...

    Naismith was certainly an innnovator - he created the entire game of basketball...

    he's also the only coach with a losing record in the history of Kansas basketball. lol

    Atkinson was released because no skins on wall and considered a development coach and team no longer heard his voice.

    Development coach is NBA speak for not being able to coach superstars. Will Harden and especially Russ believe in him like they do MDA?

    The most intriguing name that may become available is Pop.

    My guess is that the season resumes in a month, with the start of the Playoffs. Seeding is how the teams are ranked now, and go!

    They may play without fans at first, but I suspect we all will be a lot more cavalier about catching this virus as more info comes in. We don't stop things because people catch the flu or a cold, or staph, though we do bar that player from returning until they are non-viruluent. So it will be with corona.

    Yeah, I am keeping an eye on Atkinson. Seems like a good fit. And I really like the player development aspect.
