this just proves that leadership, team chemistry, culture and every member giving their all and playing their roles still wins games

I would take that above over just talent any day

More and more as I watch every Rockets game the last 2 years I see why the national media and even former and current NBA players and coaches either outright rip on the the Rockets/Harden or take little jabs and spiteful comments at them. The chuck and duck system we’ve pretty much adhered to for the last 3 years is really hard to watch and love if you like basketball, not saying it hasnt been largely successful regular season but it’s not pretty and it’s pretty damn boring to watch especially when your team and superstar shoot so poorly from three !

It will truely be a disaster for TIlman/Harden/Morey if CP3 & OKC ends up with a better record than the Rockets... the only thing worst would be if OKC beats the Rockets or outlast them in the playoffs.

Good news: OKC is only one game ahead and the Rockets have plenty of games to pass them.
Bad news: CP3 & OKC have been playing great with great team culture/focus/effort/intensity all season, since a 5-10 start... while Harden and the Rockets have been great at times but also terrible, listless, lazy and unfocused at times.

They are the better deeper team at this point, may not have the star power the Rockets “think” they have but frankly I think that team beats us in a 7 games series if they haven’t home court, and they might do it pretty easily

Too bad they won't see each other in a playoff series because both teams are pretenders.

    Haha

The Objective goes from Championship to WC Finals to 2nd round to 7 games in 1st R to no embarrassment.

Passing the OKC Thunder has become the ultimate goal.

Might as well get the 6th seed and position yourself to play the Nuggets at 3.

What if the Nuggets fall to 5th?

okc was never considered a true contender. that wasn't even close to an expectation. they weren't even one with pg13/wb. now after 64 games they're right where they were last year. And they blew up pg13 and wb for the future and got a boatload of picks for the next several years all while maintaining the same competitive ceiling. huge win for okc.

OTOH, the rockets well they expected a ship or bust

Then we hope for Utah or even OKC.

Well in nba circles that's a cool story for OKC but if your not getting that ring then it's a bust. I know OKC didn't have those expectations but adding a ring to CP3 resume is an individual expectation among NBA circles. The deepest he has got in the playoffs was ironically with the Houston Rockets. So to me in the bigger picture it's all a wash.

not really. not everyone's goal as a team is to get a ring. these guys very much know who has a realistic chance and who doesn't. okc wasn't even expected to make the playoffs. yeah they proved those doubters wrong check. ring or bust isn't for everyone at all

ironically, the best team the rockets have had since the ship days was with cp3.

Well, if that is a consolation prize, I think among the greats without a ring, I would still pick CP3 before Barkley, although Barkley went to the Finals.

They haven't lost more than 2 games in a row since Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, we're collecting 4 and 5 game losing streaks like Halloween candy.

6 was too, but let's not let the zebras off the hook for game 6. They were acting like a team with 4 all-stars needed their help to win.
