No they didn’t.... not unless the way to beat the Rockets is to lull them into poor effort and relative indifference in the game until the 4th quarter. The Rockets lost because they believed they could coast for 3+ quarters and turn it on the last 6 minutes and win.
nope. I watched harden shoot and miss 3 step back threes in a row and then turn it over on a really stupid play as we were trying to close them out. It cost us the victory in regulation. Its another example of just how undisciplined the team is. Cant win like that in the playoffs.
like i thought, dudes came out coasting. This Rockets team CANNOT COAST, this team does not have the kind of system that allows you to coast.

People can criticize Harden all they want, but even if he's playing badly he'll still score you a lot points. He has more ways to score. Whereas when you take away Westbrook's lane and clog the paint, he's not really effective. All the Knicks did tonight was clog the paint and Westbrook was forced to pass it out or go up with a contested layup. For the amount of ball and the amount of times he drives to the paint, you'd expect Westbrook to get way more free throws. It's why I'm surprised all the other teams don't do what the Knicks did tonight. Just clog the paint and force us to hit 3pt shots. We're actually not a good 3pt shooting team, so it makes sense to let us shoot over 50 3pt shots a game. Gordon and Tucker have had way too many nights like this on offensive end. They haven't offered much this season. Tucker is putting in a good defensive effort, but we need him to offer us more on the offensive end if he's going to be our starting center.

D'Antoni also bears some fault, should have sat some guys to make a point. DMC and Thabo could have provided the same 0 points and mediocre rebounding that PJ provided...or done better. My bet is they would have done better. Rockets needed source if energy and regular rotation was flat tonight. Use your bench then. And as always some young fresh legs would not hurt as well. Tyler Johnson, Justin Anderson, Jonah Bolden need to be signed.
No team can coast for 3+ quarters and expect to win. It is hard to bring it every single night, but that is the difference between a 58 win team and a 65 win team. It had been a couple of weeks since the Rockets really brought poor effort so it was due. Still they need to focus and be on the same page. Because we have been winning 75% of our games, no one has noticed but Gordon has largely been useless since coming back. He has a great opportunity in a small line up and the Rockets need him. I don’t expect much from House, he is limited... but no real excuse for Gordon.
This is the NBA, other guys get paid too, so Rockets cannot take any team for granted. That said, one loss, learn from it and move on. Clips are up next, shake it off and get a win.
For a superstar mvp candidate guard, he plays the least amount of defense that I have ever seen. Im not saying he’s a bad defender when he tries. He’s just a very lazy defender almost always. Defense is half the game. Harden plays defense when he wants. Dantoni does nothing.
PJ was fine, we always need his defense. He didnt get that many attempts from 3. But I do agree Carrol should have absolutely played and I dont know why he didnt. Thabo...err maybe.
Ehh no they have changed, they are a better team and overall better focused. Every single team will lose some games like this one. Let’s see how they respond going forward. They still need to put teams away early but this loss IMO doesn’t necessarily mean the team is terribly flawed going forward.
